You'd think you'd be trucking it out of there. Yikes.

Lets do "The Shining"....I'm back!

My wing mate got Horizons as well and we teamed up and took on a base mission. It was pretty hectic so no pictures. But we drove in in our rovers and each took a side. We ran the perimeters and took out the turrets. Then hacked the door terminals and got into the base. Drove around a bit and hacked the security systems and blew up the generator which was the mission. The ran for the exit and got 3 km out to recall our ships. We each made 360,000 cr :)

Here are some photos I took.

Hello,
Just got Horizons from Steam and it seems to have successfully linked to my FD account cause I can launch it from the FD launcher.
I have a feeling this has something to do with Rose giving FD and Origin a earful. :)
Have fun, fly safe. o7

Possibly :)

I also sent some goodies to the people that helped me. Gifted to them from Amazon.com.UK. God, the exchange rate was rough but I always show my appreciation when someone goes above and beyond for me.

BTW the lady I spoke to at FD was the receptionist and she took on the responsibility for setting things right.

Not sure why, after getting my beautiful trade Cutter and loving it, I got it in my head to give mining another go tonight.

I had a spare Anaconda, so why not? This is probably obvious, but the thing is a MUCH better mining ship than a Cobra. :-)

I found rings with Pristine Metallic reserves, but I'm still pulling a lot of nearly worthless minerals. Not really expecting to make a huge profit either way, and I'm really just happy I'm able to put a lot of rocks in my cargo hold (as I struggled to do that in my Cobra last time), but I'm wondering what the trick is to getting gold, silver, palladium, painite, osmium, etc? Surely everyone isn't spending 3 hours hopping between rocks, and using 150 prospector limpets to find this stuff? I feel like I'm missing some trick.

Also, it's worth mentioning that when you are hunting down a place to mine, it helps to not make a typo in the system name, and end up 400ly out of your way. :-D At least I'll probably make a ton of money on exploration data for my level 1 scans.

My miner is a Python and I'm not changing it for anything, tried other ships but it's just not s fun. Since it's cargo hold isn't as big I don't have to stay forever to fill it up and it maneuvers very well in the asteroid fields. Tried to mine with a T-9 once... seemed like forever until I filled up the hold.

I'm not at that level yet of being able to afford any of those ships but I found this video of a Keelback in mining action. Seriously considering it.

I thought about using my gunship, now that I'm done raining ballistic death on Metcalf keep, but it just doesn't have great internals for all the limpets, refinery, a shield, and cargo.

The Anaconda has that in spades, and plenty of hardpoints for mining and defense.

Now I just need to figure out the secret to finding actual metals in a pristine metallic ring...

Hello,
Found this trick of shooting of just one chunk from an asteroid and scanning it before sending in a prospector limpet. Read it from a website. It helped me save on limpets.
Hope this helps.
Have fun, fly safe. o7

That should help , thanks :) I've decided to go for that Keelback and take up something relaxing for a change.
