What am I doing in the game right now? Nothing. Except maybe letting missions expire, because the servers are down.

LOL. I haven't played all week and was just going to give it a go. Oh well, maybe tomorrow.
It's time to give this another go.

Evening all! I don't think the servers are down, I think it's just congested. I got in after about 8 consecutive attempts and I'm still in.

I sure miss the speed and maneuverability, though - I never even traded out the original fixed pulse lasers (I could dial the cross-hairs onto a baddie without breaking a sweat). I guess now I get to have the same fun kitting out my Cobra!

Does anyone collect all their old ships, or do you just trade them in for the upgrade? I don't have the heart to sell my sidewinder. It's like a good ol' horse who deserves the peace of the pasture (or storage dock, as the case may be).

NEVER just trade it in as you get hosed on the module values. Strip the ship you are about sell. Replace all the modules with the cheapest junk that will fit and get back all your credits at 100% value. Sell off everything on the hard points. Sell of everything that shows as "sell" button on the panel when you click it. Yes you can sell off the shields and leave the slot empty. Replace the thrusters last as the system is set up that you cant shift from the 5000 HP jet engine to the Gerbil on the wheel if the ship weighs too much.

The reason for this is because when you sell the ship as is you only get 95% of the modules value back. If you strip it down and down grade it, you get 100% of the value back.

I miss my Sidewinder, Cobra Mk III, Viper Mk III and IV and my Diamondback about as much as I miss an amputation with a rusty razor

LOL, good analogy

I'm keeping my Sidewinder, Viper3 and Viper4 even when I graduate to the next largest ship simply because they're cheap to run for their role. I dislike grind which is why I'm skipping Imperial ascension missions. Also, if I'm ever involved in a guild war those big ships will be the first to go. Wars are a battle of attrition and the smaller ships will be running around doing their thing long after the big ones are stuck in their hangar for lack of credits to run. Losing my Viper4 ten times in a row is nothing compared to losing a Conda 3x in succession.

Eve changed from big ship duels to small ship swarms when the Goons came. ED will go through the same evolution with or without the Goons. It's a natural progression.

I got in once too, but for example bulletin board was unusable. And I'm guessing mining with limpets would be pretty bad too.
Just tried again with a login failure. I guess it is time for some other game then, running missions for Sirius corporation was my aim for today and currently I cannot do that.
I play on PC, in the Mobius PVE Eurasia group.

Mostly pissed because I loaded up on missions before it went down... Now I'm going to fail them all.

And another good thing about selling that stuff before you trade your ship is that you can buy that stuff back to your new ship even if that module normally is not in the stock in that station. Just make sure you don't undock before you do, because after you leave the station you can't buy back those modules. This saves lots of time because you dont't have to look for that A-rated stuff all over again. Naturally some of the old modules are too small for larger ships so those you gotta search all over again.

I sold my Sidewinder, Adder and Cobra mk3 but i still got my Vulture, FDL and Asp Explorer. Im not going to sell my Python either when the time comes to finally get that Anaconda.

The planetary landing vid I saw was pretty impressive. Not to say that that monster is not bug ridden as well, but Star Citizen is an alternative to ED.

FD had better step up their game because the mission bugs and NPC AI and connection issues and other nonsense is really ruining the experience for me.

Hello,
Personally, I feel that Star Citizen finally launching (or even SQ42) would be very good for Elite Dangerous. It would give FD a good kick in the ass and have them wake up their idea.
Right now I feel that FD are getting a bit complacent. Larger and lager bug lists, server issues pretty much most weekends, unfinished or non- thought through features e.g. timed missions without an in-game ship console clock. Now they are talking about adding personality to mission givers and implementing Engineers on planet surfaces to upgrade ships. What's the point of adding personality to a mission giver if the mission itself is bugged? What's the point of adding Engineers to planets surfaces if most of the time you try and land, you CTD?
FD dev team seem to be like little kids in a toy store, with the same attention span. "Oh look there's a new toy". "Cool, let's play". 5mins later. "Oh look there's another cool toy". Drops current toy and runs to the next one. Rinse and repeat.

Only reason, I'm posting this is to vent my frustration cause I can't play on a Saturday. :( That's what I'm doing in-game now.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

P.S.: Dudley could you please tell your monkey to stop dating the server monkey. Their weekend romps are causing the rest of us grief. Thanks. :(

I'm almost relieved. As I bailed from our 'race' at 15% Earl due to BB refresh fatigue.

I'll play again later but I will probably go off and do some smuggling at Robigo for variation. I think you may win our 'race'.
