Schmobius, youre on. Let the race commence although I left the game at Earl 1% and was considering leaving it, for a break, to do a spot of smuggling. However a challenge is a challenge. :) I shall resume the contest tonight.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

I have the clock on my X-52 Pro MFD set to in-game time, so that info is always available. ;) For the folks that don't have an X-52 Pro, you could easily set a 'world' clock on your PC or smartphone to GMT, which is the time zone that the game clock synchronizes with.

I ran some Cubeo surface assault missions today. Man... the BB's were stingy as hell compared to last weekend when I did the same run! After 1.5 hours of cycling and visiting two surface stations, I only got about 20 missions. the payout was around $2.8m. Grrr.... could have made much more trading or pew pew, but I do enjoy planetary assaults in my Asp.... so the fun factor was worth it. :D

When leaving Roskam station after collecting my 'hard earned' money, I picked up two BB hauling missions. Both were quick and easy and paid a total of around $800k for just dropping off stuff at two surface stations.

Back to my home station now to grab the Vette for some much needed pew pew. I think I'll work on my combat rank this morning, so I'll be in a CNB around Azrael for an hour or so. If anyone wants to wing up, just give me a shout in game. :)

Did another patrol run in Azrael, got lucky twice taking down two bounties then headed home. Was careless and got interdicted on the way and at that point should have dropped , boosted and ran like hell back to Rafferty's. Got greedy, took him on and at that point lady luck left the scene.

After the humbling rebuy took a 10k delivery run to another system and when i got there after several hops the station was 250LS away from the local sun. Sighed and continued anyway, that long distance gives you a long time to reflect on your own shortcomings. By a twist of fate two lucrative reasonably short delivery runs popped up , one after another and I ended with more money in the bank than when I started.

Browncoat credo :

Do the job
Get paid
Keep flying

and things will turn out all right :)

Loading my Python with beer. This is the second time in "Bringing home the bacon mission" to bring beer to Rafferty's Mobius station.

Is someone throwing a party there? :D

I decided to run a few missions for OoM in Azrael. Wanted to refit my Fer-de-Lance to hold a bit of cargo and some fuel, so had to fly around to find the necessary compartments. Finally refitted I went to Raf's in Azrael, did a couple of missions, decided I wanted to go bounty hunting in my previous system, had to re-refit my Fer-de-Lance, again had to fly around to find the necessary compartments. Finally arrived at the system I had left 2 hours earlier... went to bed.

All in all, I didn't do squat last night, just flying about refitting my Fer-de-Lance.

If I ever feel the need again, I do have a Python, Cobra IV and Asp parked in Azrael, I'll take the bus there and leave the Fer-de-Lance waiting for me.

I think I was only about 5% Earl when I said that, myself. I made it to 27% last night.

You aren't kidding. And I feel like they aren't adding quite as much to my rep in higher ranks either. When I cycle the board three or 4 times, and only get 2 empire missions, where I used to get 8 in Mobius, 4 in solo, 5 in Open, etc., that hurts.

I cannot wait for this grind to be over.

I don't think they ever stopped working, just aren't as plentiful. I certainly found shadow delivery missions last time I was there, which was after the cries of nerf, but it wasn't blowing my mind. I think I was only able to pick up 2 worthwhile missions there, but they were worth 4 million a piece.

Hello,
Yup, you've really got to pay attention to what missions you take now. Especially with the new mission types for 1.5/2.0. Before I take a mission I usually click the "Open Galaxy Map" button first, to check out if the mission is even worth my time. I also don't take multi-hop missions, unless I've got some time to kill on my hands and am not doing anything else. I also try not to do timed missions (cause there is no in-game clock on my Python's console ;) ).
My personal favorite mission is the "Rescue hostage" mission, where I find the guy, follow him out the station and then blow him up and he never releases the hostage. Then, there was this time where I was supposed to wonder the galaxy with cargo and would be notified at some random time where to bring the cargo. Was notified after nearly a hour (was just about to give up.) Went to the system. Checked all the ships in SC, no joy. Went to all the stations in the system and checked, no joy. Finally, gave up, went to the nearest CZ, shot a few NPCs and let the mission timer run out. Then brought the cargo to a station and sold it.

Have fun, fly safe. o7

Hi Falcon,

For what its worth there is a clock on the Galaxy map. Super dumb place for it, but you can check the time there.

On the hostage missions you have to bring down the shields, then shoot the hatch open or use a hatch breaker limpet. As soon as the hatch lets go the hostage tumbles out in a container. Now you can pick it up the usual scoop and hope way or you can use a collector limpet to grab the hostage.

If you want to read about my adventure with a "hold onto this and I'll let you know" mission, read my post titled "Stolen Poop, OMG" :D
