Cool. I'm so far from Elite explorer that I'd probably have to do 2 Sag A* runs just to get to the level before.

Today's session was THE worst day of FUBAR events ever, in ED

It started out in a high res zone. I am in my Courier and tailing an Anaconda waiting for it to engage another ship or two before I tag it for the bounty. I watch and the 'Conda attacks an NPC Python that happens to be clean. I hang out a bit and a 2nd 'conda joins in and the Python is going down like a rock. So I figured I should jump in and lend a hand. In the crazy combat that ensued one of my stray shots nails the Python, who apparently was almost dead, and I kill him. Instantly I am wanted in my home system and the two Anaconda's and all the cops attack me. Barely get out with 10% hull. I am now wanted for, lets see...3 days, well better than 6 I suppose.

So I head out to get to a new Empire control systems because I like the 20% boost to my bounties and I end up at HIP 20524. Not so bad, lots of rez spots, tons of missions maybe I'll move and let all my bounties time out and start fresh

So I grab a bunch of missions to move data chips and off I go...."scanned" the split second I leave the slot and every mission I have is a "fail"! Blah, dock and get some more. Ok haul 9 tons of slave to someplace, pays 250K okk sure. I take the mission and that's when it says I have to hold them in my cargo bay for X hours and someone is gonna contact me at some point. Great so now all the locate cargo missions I can't do because my ship only has a 10 ton cargo cap and I have 9 filled with slaves. Ok well lets do other missions. I get interdicted and after the battle this guy is there and wants me to work for him instead of the group that gave me the mission and I, like a tard, say sure. He sends me 9 jumps out and when I get to the destination and I have ZERO fuel left, thats what the slave mission upates! I now have to go 10 jumps back the way I came and there isn't enough fuel to get there. So I check the trip lines and mark the last system at the end of the solid line as my refuel system and off I go. I get to that refuel spot and there are no stations, I didn't check. Should I log? So I set my travel to economy and limp 3 jumps to a station to refuel. Now I have 3 min to get to the rendezvous to find out where I can take the slaves. Now keep in mind all this time the slaves are no illegal cargo. I get to the target system and I am greeted by a huge "MISSION FAILED". I am so pissed I abandon the dumb thing which of course now marks the slaves as stolen So I take the long way around 23 jumps to Harm and sell them on the Black Market.

Ok so now whats left, I have to find 8 tons of mineral extractors and wow I am in luck they are right here in Harm. I grab them and head back to discover that this was part one of a multi part mission and part 2 I need 12 tons of cargo space. Well I have 10 and the jerky bird mission gives no option to go to outfitting to make room. Options are "accept' and "galaxy map" I had to exit to desktop to get out of it, then abandon it.

One mission left and its and step and fetch it to run all over creation for 90K.

I make the final delivery and I am done, right? WRONG. Now I have to go back the point of origin for my pay.

All this busy work is just like the old D&D class of MMO fill in for crappy ass missions and to make the game seem more complete than it really is. Its supposed to be what century?

The only high point of the day was my power play weekly salary of 5 million, the rest of my time in ED could have been better spent doing my nails

Yup, you've really got to pay attention to what missions you take now. Especially with the new mission types for 1.5/2.0. Before I take a mission I usually click the "Open Galaxy Map" button first, to check out if the mission is even worth my time. I also don't take multi-hop missions, unless I've got some time to kill on my hands and am not doing anything else. I also try not to do timed missions (cause there is no in-game clock on my Python's console ).
My personal favorite mission is the "Rescue hostage" mission, where I find the guy, follow him out the station and then blow him up and he never releases the hostage. Then, there was this time where I was supposed to wonder the galaxy with cargo and would be notified at some random time where to bring the cargo. Was notified after nearly a hour (was just about to give up.) Went to the system. Checked all the ships in SC, no joy. Went to all the stations in the system and checked, no joy. Finally, gave up, went to the nearest CZ, shot a few NPCs and let the mission timer run out. Then brought the cargo to a station and sold it.
