RES farming is out of the question, I had way too many scans to evade.

Why??

I was in a few RES last night and get scanned all the time by various security forces with a 200k bounty and never had an issue... only BH kill-warrant scan you .... local police only check for crimes in their own system

You're right, I spent 2 hours in a high-intensity RES in a system I was not wanted. The few system authority ships that did show up had no issues with me being there, the fact I have a bounty on my head in nearby systems is not relevant to them just like you stated.

Yeah, every security personnel seems to consider me clean every time they scan me outside a station or in a RES. Haven't really been scanned by a bounty hunter yet though (I don't think I even know how they look like).

Do dormant bounties disappear upon expiration?

NPC bounty hunters are those that scan you and say something like "You're clean" but are not labeled "system security" (or whatever they're called in that system).

Expired dormant bounties turn into fines.

Ah, that answers it. Thanks. :D

I guess that means avoiding RES altogether for a few more days. Hopefully, I wouldn't have to go back to that one system where I was marked just to pay up.

Actually, I'm not sure NPC bounty hunters use KWS. I'm wanted for a week in a system after an assassination mission, but that didn't cause me any trouble bounty hunting in nearby systems, whether in RES or nav beacons/USS.

Oh? Thanks for the correction, then. Not sure if I remembered it wrongly or if it changed again.
