Reading through the reviews on Metacritic, this line made me smile:

I never tried the other games mentioned (and from what I've read on Star Citizen, I'm not about to try it). But I'm loving E:D.

Loving it. Now there are plots and stories popping up all over the place there is a new dynamic that was missing in the Beta and Gamma phases, there is more to do that just go to A, do stuff, come back to B.

The unfolding Empire plot is particularly interesting with a number of Senators competing for the Throne, the Emperors Son Harold being declared mad, and a young lady courtier who is now claiming to be Hengists bastard daughter.

As well as the slave uprising at Sorbago which is keeping Senator Torville busy, and giving me a chance to fly around protecting the Imperial Interdictor, it's all absolutely brilliant stuff.

You should bite the bullet buddy and come back in, we miss you in the void.

Sounds all "Game of Thrones". Just watched the third season with the missus and was quite surprised by the Starks line abrupt "trimming"...

I think my "mourning" period will have to last a bit longer. Still feel terribly let down. But she is hard to resist...

I have played both E D & SC and really have come to the conclusion that SC will be PvP focused to an extreme extent, elite will be PvE focused. I like the distinction but I see why a lot of people are in one camp or the other.

As for Elite''s launch; Could have been a LOT better, conversely could have been a LOT worse. The game was stable (AC anyone?) playable (X:rebirth anyone) but just feels empty. Part of the emptiness I hope will never go away as space is huge but the multi-player interactions needed to be better, the needed to be more to group play and they should have fixed the economy. I think they could have pushed it back a few weeks but just wanted the anniversary date too much.
