That IGN review makes me think "this guy does not understand what a sandbox is".
His take on combat is simplistic and shows he has not actually read how to do it, or how to dogfight in game.
Flying around you can see he has not even found out how to assign his "pip"s yet (why the hell does he have two to weapons while running trade routes in a hauler?
"requesting docking at 7.5km religiously" - I think it exemplifies the reviewer's lack of experimentation. He was told this by some mis-informed fool so stuck to it. The truth is outposts = 7.5km big stations = 10km as far as I can tell.
"landing being exactly the same" - hell that is lack of imagination. I go through the letter box in my type 6 sideways and normally after coming off a boost just to see if I can do it (only lost 40% hull once).
I think this review will be what really shows the division in the game; the players.
Some players, like most of us here I would think, love the freedom to try new things, new ways of doing things and want to make mistakes in the progress of it.
Other players want to be told in explict terms you can do this, or this is how you do it. Those players will find Elite a HUGE issue.
But I am happy with elite, I am not happy with people projecting their own limitations of how they play sandboxes on the game and then blaming the game (he might not be, I have no had my morning coffee yet)
