Viper Mk4 makes your piloting even more impressive. I tend to over rely on my pitching ability and this is not a good thing to do on the FDL. I go backwards with the FDL fine but it is just slugging at that point. Would love to wing up thanks

(official colour for the Imperial House of Crumpet ships - I am the paterfamilias and I have a traceable illustrious family history of 3000 years, with a bust for each male in my home, which unknown to all started with a slave who had a little tea and crumpet shop called "Crumpeteater" at a small local train station...shh..don't tell anyone that).
Yes its all about fun for me. My FDL module sniper build is for that, not the most credits. I am working on using a thruster and rudder technique Vindicator Jones showed in a video. You can practice with an asteroid. Face the asteroid, hold thruster to go to the right, hold left foot forward on rudder pedal and you can go around the asteroid with your nose facing the asteroid the whole time. The FDL has the best thrusters according to a video by Kornelius. So...I am trying to use that in combat now. That is fun for me because I love flightsimming (esp dogfighting) and while I got rid of IL2-1946 and FSX (after so many years, long story) I have IL2-BOM, IL-2 COD and ROF.

Yes turrets work great on the Courier I agree! Also agree about the fuel scoop comment. With turrets I like to imagine a virtual box around my opponent (rectangle, twice as long as it is high). The opponent is in the centre of the box. My goal is to aim for a corner of the box behind the opponent in order to minimise head-on exchanges and my turrets can hit regardless. If coming from the rear I roll in a haphazard way to reduce enemy turrets. Again just I enjoy doing that rather than its the best technique or anything...

I think your builds with the extra armor would be better in a CZ than mine and also have multi-role capabilities. I tend to just do combat in a hazres these days..
