Meh, I don't really care either way. It just seems odd to force a player out of a PVE group and into solo if he wants to avoid PVP. I've only been in CZs with friends (haven't done a CG and am not in PP), but I don't think it would be too immersion breaking, with dozens of targets, to select non-CMDRs. Or for that matter, saying Hi and asking if PVP is desired (greetings, my honored enemy - do you wish for death?) , but I can see how that wouldn't work with several CMDRs in a CZ.

As for PVP, I've kept thinking that it could be fun. Not like my experiences in open where my Hauler got vaporized by a Python, but a good test of 1 on 1 combat skills. But the the more I think about it, I think it would be more like a slug-fest where the one with the most SCBs wins. I've seen these types of matches on youtube and they are boring. The main problem with PVE is that the NPCs are pathetic and I've never found one I couldn't handle if I was in a proper warship (so T-9 excluded). But I still have plenty of fun in PVE where I see a wing of pirates harassing a miner and I have to figure out how to handle the situation. That offers a bit of a challenge that isn't boring, along with trading and exploration, that has kept me captivated for about 11 months now. :)

Yeah, it looks like that may have been the case. But the other douchebag in this story was still effing around in the Mobius group.
It's time to give this another go.

Would it sound more immersion breaking to say that you are ignoring an enemy that you have a significant chance of defeating who is killing your allies left right and center? Can you imagine a real soldier doing that in any non-treasonous situation? Somebody's on your wingmans tail, but you know, shooting things is such a hassle. Better to let him die and pretend like you didn't see anything.

Sure, you can issue an agressive ultimadum to announce your intentions, but that's not the same as blatantly ignoring one of the enemies because they happen to have a hollow symbol on your map. Especially when you start to clear out the nearby enemies and are left staring at the one enemy you're trying to pretend doesn't exist.
