It's also allot easier if you log into Teamspeak. You have a much better chance on finding a Wing, combat group, and buddy to hang out with. Perhaps if folks are more interested in RP, perhaps a RP channel in Teamspeak is in order!

Yeah, the only thing is I use a fairly serious stereo system for gaming. I'm not ready to put headphones on again...went through that with Battlefield and Star Craft 2.

If I see another commander I always say hi. In fact sometimes I say hi first. Usually a S! Cmdr. I have gotten responses. So not all doom and gloom, lol.

I've got a beefy stereo and a wireless mic/headphone that lets sound in, and use that only for comms. PushToTalk and essentially the surround sound atmosphere is not impeded at all.
I always o7 to all commanders when I get the chance.

I'm more worried about them having to hear all the stuff coming out of my stereo system from ED. About the only thing I can do is turn the stereo way down so my voice ends up being loud enough for them to hear, rather than trying to hear my voice over my stereo when I PTT in teamspeak. That's not much of a solution though.

I checked the COMM screen when I docked to see if i miss a chat. I always respond although sometimes a bit slow. Hope they implement a guild chat system in the future.

I primarily use teamspeak if I'm up for com's since while having the HOTAS out, reaching the keyboard is pretty much a no go.
