The original concept works for me. If we need a poll, post it and I'll except what ever the group agrees on.

What he said. :)

Which I think is the most sensible option. If you start making caveats you end up with overly complicated rules for new members. For me it's not pvp full stop, the end. If a pirate isn't allowed to shoot at a player to persuade him to drop some cargo then a bounty hunter shouldn't be able to shoot at a pirate to gain his bounty.

Yes, totally agree. Player pirates and bounty hunters only go after NPCs in this group. See my post above.

The question is, what to do when going in conflict zones, and having Players on the opposing faction.
If PvP is banned from those, things are more complicated. What do you do?
  1. Leave the zone and switch sides?
  2. Only allowed to chose the faction any PC is already in?
  3. Stay but don't shoot enemies if they are PC?
  4. Leave and quit the game to go online in another group or open play?
  5. Stay and fight as planned, we both chose to be here and chose our faction?

All but the last option feel wrong to me.

We all signed up for number 5, right? Conflict zones are legitimate PvP areas?

I can see how this could scare some away from confict zones while in the Mobius group and head of to solo play. But isn't this group the very best place to try out your PvP combat skills? Hell, we might even teach each other a few things.... :)

ARGH! My head hurts...... ;)

Note: I'm worse at combat than the npc's anyway...

I'm here for the good company. Tell me how you want to party. I'm game! :D

N.B: It's already a big group, and this forum is growing daily. People signing up agreed to a set of rules. Changing them could get awkward.

Sounds the best thing to do, and I would go along of course with the descision.

Basically I don't mind what the decision is but that Mobius and Wolf should make it, is I feel valid.

I was under the impression it was no PvP at all even in a war / conflict zone. My intention was basically go to the war zone, pick a side and ignore any hollow triangles on my radar.

The other way to handle it is to make it PvP in war zones only and if people really don't want PvP they avoid war zones. But you are then dictating to those folks that they can't get involved in a war.

This is a good way of thinking about it. I know we're all allowed opinions (unlike, possibly, a certain other forum) and it's a nice friendly discussion (unlike, possibly, a certain other forum) but someone has to make the final decision before chaos sets in.

I get the feeling that most of us here wouldn't engage another pilot, even under 'legal' circumstances, so the situation may not arise too frequently. A little etiquette for "You wanna fight? FIGHT ME!" would cater for the rare occasions.

Firstly and most importantly: I only asked Mobius if he would let me set up the forum. I did not invent the group, nor was I the first to join. I don't want to take a place that is not mine! :geek:

Secondly, well, Mobius himself asked the question. ;) My interpretation of that is, battle zones or the behaviour therein is not so importatnt to him (Mobius?). And/Or he wants us all to agree.
He also stated, that he does not want to be the "leader" or "legislative" of the group.

That is true. I hope most read the description. ;)

Like I said: this is a difficult question. The other way around you would dictate players which side to chose or limt their gameplay in a (IMO) strange way, by forbidding to shoot some of the enemies.

That's fine but only if we are all Imperials. I am not working for the Feds ;)
