Signed.

Needs sharing somewhere.

Don't think it would last long on the official forums.

I only saw it as a little bit of text at the bottom of someone's signature so I don't think it's widely known about

As I couldn't find any posts about this petition on the official forum, I was wondering if someone here would create a post on the subject over there.

https://www.change.org/p/frontier-devel ... e_petition

I can't myself as I'm banned again. All I wrote was that David Brabens word wasn't worth anything (someone suggested that DB had said that he might look into an offline mode in the future.... HA! Oh, I'll believe that then shall I?...), and other words concerning FD's conduct in regards to promises.
Others have written as much in so many (other) words, but it felt nice to just write it straight out. Definitely worth the ban. :)

Holy catfish batman, you seriously banned again, just for stating what a large proportion of the Elite community generally feel. I suppose they put it under the personal attack on staff category, but still given recent events I would have thought they would have refrained from a ban. Bad luck, still at least you have a non-banning cosy home here.

Update:

So. Got a reply from FD today. Could I confirm logged hours of testing, and did I understand that offline mode and single player were two different things?

Yes I could, and yes I did.

I explained again that offline is a big thing for me. When I buy a game, I expect to receive a game. Not a launcher/client to access FD servers.

And that I was hoping to play E: D long after support/servers were gone.

E: D is not just any other game for me. I had extremely high expectations, and am now extremely disappointed.

It will be sad if you go but you have made your reasons clear, and I understand them, so I won't go on. If they offer you a refund though, would that demonstrate that they respected your position and maybe persuade you to stay, albeit with less than you wanted when you gave your financial and time served support?

Cheers Avi. :)

If they offer a full refund, then that would demonstrate to me that they have come to understand the importance of this promised feature to some people. Which would certainly go a long way in terms of FD's respect for their backers/customers.

Sadly, this "betrayal" of my initial trust and boyish excitement has turned me 180 degrees. I haven't touched the "game" since the newsletter, and don't feel like it either at the moment. There's a lot of truth in higher expectations equalling greater disappointment.

Though the E: D community in general, and this group/forum in particular have by far been the best I have ever come across. :)

Fly safe Avi!

For me it doesn't really matter. The only gaming PC I have is always online anyway (oh so tasty 100/40Mbit VDSL link)
I am assuming that they follow up on their promise that if/when they at some point no longer can maintain the online servers they give us an option to either play completely play offline or at least host private server(s).
