Ahem, a brief explanation ....... :(

The aforementioned card was found  and of course, once the owner had been established, it was immediately returned.. The subsequent burning down of Raff's bar was purely coincidental and not proven to have anything at all to do with a military grade weapon which was implicated in this incident. :P
The unfortunate commander who lost the ear has not yet been found and the monkey is believed to be working somewhere in LHS 3447 as a chef.
The original CMDR Dawg was vaporised in an accident involving an industrial strength microwave oven and a steak and kidney pie. Thankfully, a small piece of CMDR Dawg's left buttock cheek was recovered and regenerated and he continues to thrive today as an Asshat :D (Not surprisingly really :P )
Oh...Kharma..Lori..Tor, what should I do with Xebeth's card? I think he suspects something
As a tribute to Tor, my CMDR has small feet too! o7 Dawg

I understand this is necro, but I do not have pm yet. shadragon, are you still interested in this concept (or a variant of it)? This would be for open, not Mobius, for the valid reasons listed already in the thread. If you are interested, let me know and I will tell you more.

This idea will on lead to more of them coming on to take on 'The Marshalls' it'll give them the fight they are looking for. Most of these trolls get bored and go away eventually or are dealt the official way.

On a slight variant to the op, and now I've got a few credits behind me - what would be nice from our pve group would be organised missions into open purely combat driven, to be a sort of Marshall, fly around certain systems, see a griefer and well, show him the rebuy screen - but I know this will have implications within bounties and criminal records - just thinking out loud

Err, no.

Well actually what you do in open is entirely up to you of course, but the Mobius groups would never endorse such behaviour.

The outrage/QQ'ing/repercussions doesn't bear thinking about.

Please remember that this is a public forum.

I'm of the mind that before I report a griefer to get the boot, with adequate evidence of course, I want to be able to teach them the lesson of rebuy in the immediate moments of the confrontation.

But that's not how we do things, same with the marshals concept. It's against the core values. I agree with Xebeth, it's not when thinking about the eventual annoyance that will crop up.

Well – not much to add, really. As one of those being in Mobius almost since it's beginnings, I support the others reasoning against a policing force here. It all worked, as far as possible, good and satisfactory since Mobius came live as a group.
but let me add that i can fully understand how you feel (got myself blown up in my precious Conda by an idiot SuicideEagle once, albeit in Open). And I am not a "carebear", don't mistake the Fuel Rats in Open for that, they are just fearless run-away bastards – and am even pondering joining one of the anti-griefer forces in open, but for the fun and delightment of it.
Griefers gonna grief, idiots gonna idiot, just read the impertinent "reasoning" of one of our last cases – best way is to ban them swiftly.

Sevin: Rebuys are not a threat to SuicideEagle / SLF griefers. the system is just broken in that respect.

As soon as you know it's a human attacking you, take out the ethernet.
Absolutely nothing upsets griefers as much as combat logging.

Disclaimer: I've never had the misfortune of being ganked in this game but I'm guessing there is always enough time for this method.
