I don't use TS but I would not stand for it. Personally I don't get it, what bloody difference does it make what gender, race, creed, sexual preference another player is?! We are all here to enjoy the game, so lets enjoy it with a nice variety of people to play it with!

I've not been on the Mobius TS server, but certainly wouldn't put up with that kind of crap against any player or group.

I have been known to occasionally respond unpleasantly to people spewing that kind of garbage in text chat of other games, although that seems to be more anti-LGBT than sexist.

If those players continue to cross the line then I will, and so should others, report them through TS or direct to Wolf or Flip.

I personally think you should report them to staff, so they can be officially warned.

As you can see the majority of members find this obnoxious behaviour offensive and intolerable..

I also think you should point fingers at the culprits to the admins. Obviously nothing major can be done without proof, but a polite warning is firmly required. In fact I would say that you are obligated to do so, otherwise you are just letting it slide, and be tolerated.

Gosh you guys are making me feel like I am admitting something bad. Like, my name is StaticRadion and... and I use the TS server. But, in all sincerity the TS server can be a little harsh some times. The main thing to note is what channel you are in.

Elite PVE Group Lounge- This is where you go if you want a safe place. On a side not this channel is usually empty.

The Red Lion Pub- It is as it sounds, a bar type environment. The description reads "Sit and have a drink or two!" Many people like to have a few drinks when when they are enjoying the game and that channel welcomes them to do so. This is probably the second most offensive channel to be in because things are said accidentally by those that have had one to many.

The Grotto- Don't be fooled by the name this is not just where things get naughty this is where it gets down right nasty. The description of the channel is "No Holds Barred Chat. You have been Warned" and as such anything goes. This is where the degenerates of Mobius hang out and the channel is either silent or full of constant trash talk. Don't think to badly of us, many just want to blow off steam.

Any other channel- In specific I am talking about any channel under the drop down of "Play Your Way" is where most people go to be in wings. There is nothing wrong with dropping down into one of these channels to try and find a wingman or an open spot in a wing for trade, combat, and mining, but be mindful that unless the channel is empty you are inviting yourself into someone else's group. As such, some of these people may have recently moved from the grotto and are still throwing feces like confetti.

I use team speak just about every time I play, and I'm not really sure what you're talking about. Conversations are usually about game mechanics, getting a wing together, or finding new ways to have fun/make credits. I've only seen 2 women regularly on the server and they are consistently meet with friendly welcomes and chat.

If you've heard something different, have you considered taking it up with the people upsetting you? Getting up on a shout box without specific examples, and surrounded by people who have no experience with the team speak server doesn't sound like a way to resolve the issue in any meaningful way.

Or were you just hunting for sympathy?

IMHO there is only one way to solve the problem: eradicate it by the roots.
If a player is -in any form- impolite and/or abusive: week ban.
Then he comes on probation for say a month, if it happens again: perma-ban.

Some will see this as extreme, but i always used this rule in any other game, and in the long run, we had nothing but advantage of this form of policing.

Speaking again as devils advocate this entire topic falls outside the purview of the Group Policy. I mean I am not one to say hate speech is tolerable, but it seems we are all getting a little over sensitive at the moment. I have been in TS with Mobius and Steo two of our senior members when the black and white lines have muddied into grey mush because of "colorful" jokes.

I would say that if anything a temporary ban from TS or the boards may be necessary if the topics were truly out of hand, but even then I would say that you would need some people to back up your story. Other than that I don't feel any action should be taken in regards to them being kicked out of the Mobius group because this is after all just a place for PVE and I at least was never informed of it being anything else.

I was always told that this was community and group play optional. "Don't spoil another players game!" was the original slogan I was brought into the fold toting. Teamspeak is not a right it is a privilege and those who own the server though it wise to have "colorful" channels as I described in my previews post. I guess what I am saying is that if you find the pond you are in too murky or dingy maybe it is your responsibility to see yourself out and not ruin the larger groups good time. If there are six or seven guys in "The Grotto" spewing hate speech and you start telling them what they are doing wrong then you are probably going to get an ear full. In that case you are also the one in the wrong.

TL;DR- Read the group policy, try to understand the essence of "Don't spoil another players game!", and if you see a group of guys playing with fire and you don't want to get burned then don't play with them.
