Well I don't touch unknown thingy's so it will still be unknown to me ^,^

I wouldn't mess with it as I'd probably mess something up. Though I may help explore in the direction they feel it is pointing

Well I was not on TS so I am not sure how you worked it all out but are you going to gather more than one in the same location so you can make sure you understand the direction it is aiming? IE is the head or the butt the pointer? Does it point in 3 dimensions or as a simple X and Y coordinate plane? I have a lot of questions, but I guess i should just get on TS LOL

This UA mystery seems very interesting. Also, seems to be the main story type mystery element in game.

According to FD all the clues are already there and that if they gave out anymore clues people would immediately figure out what it is. But it seems that all the clues they have given out so far are very cryptic. I would like to join if I can link up and time willing.

In 1.4 Beta, the UA currently points to Merope in the Pleiades.
May change on general release, may not.
The main FD forum thread is now on its 3rd one, as the previous ones got too big.
The Wiki page is a good place to start, but some of it is out of date, particularly with all the weird and wonderfull tests that have already been made. One has even been ejected into Sag*A

What if the UA's are beacons? It seems to me they are transmitting either their locations, or the locations of the closest celestial body.

They could be sending out SOS signals, or calling in an invasion fleet.

I wonder if they're some kind of sensor net.
