C'mon man.

If you're going to be in Mobius, at least say 'hi' when someone says 'hi' to you. I get it if you're busy docking or entering/exiting the station, but if you're sitting on the pad, at least say 'hi' back. I'm looking at you Mr. Conda that was at Howard. I saw you leave a few seconds after I docked...I know you weren't afk. And if you own a 'conda and don't know the default '2' to chat, please turn in your 'conda and ED card for one week as punishment.

I mean, if you're not even willing to say 'hi' when someone says 'hi', why not just play solo?

Joined a few days ago doing the CG at Wolf 406 been saying hi to all the commanders i see but no response so i feel ya cmdr. But would also like to add use the correct corresponding color for entering and exiting a dock bumped a conda lastnight and had to hit the station to avoid a T7 tonight i'm sure i could have plowed him with my conda but then i probably get kicked for pvp lols

When I drop someone a hi and they don't reply I just put it down to them not seeing it, doesn't anger me that way I came to Mobius for the same reasons. Find players who like PvE and have people to natter to while going about my galactic life

Well if your a little bored trashing those poor NPC's or just wanna pass a little time i'm always up for a gossip. You might get bored of hearing about the things I found while exploring though

Some people using VR, such as the Oculus Rift don't want to take their headset off to look down at the keyboard and type and if they're playing with speakers rather than headphones, don't really want to use voice comms because it can interfere by picking up background noise on the mic, especially ones that compress the signal and boost everything it picks up therefore making it a muddy mes for the person on the receiving end.

I do sometimes say hi if I see someone docked in a station (mostly Jameson Memorial - I don't really see anyone else in the other systems in the region) but rarely get a response. But they might be busy - I find it's easily to miss messages if I'm busy buying cargo or looking at missions, and on the Galaxy Map you don't even get the little noise telling you you've been sent a tell, so it can be easy to miss.
One time I was doing trading so visited the same station numerous times over the course of an hour or so, and kept seeing the same player flying around outside it (not sure what they were doing) - said hi multiple times but never got a response .

How about a "Call me" thread in the forum? Actively encouraging people who wish to socialise to leave the door open..?

He was probably in the back securing cargo with the ship on Auto Pilot. You know how piss-poor some of the dock workers are at some of the stations. Always forgetting to lash things down....


I try to always say hi, even if the person doesn't respond. They may see it 4 systems later when they finally see something else on Comms that lights up the panel and they notice it. At least they know I tried.

AND whether you are busy, AFK, don't see/hear comms, or are just anti-social at that time (lost in space), remember the Mobius group is about playing your way with like minded non pvpers, so to each thier own! (Although I will always say hi, even at the detriment of my ship crashing, since it can get quiet out there.)

It's also allot easier if you log into Teamspeak. You have a much better chance on finding a Wing, combat group, and buddy to hang out with. Perhaps if folks are more interested in RP, perhaps a RP channel in Teamspeak is in order!
