No one likes me

I haven't had a conversation with anyone yet - it'd be nice just to have a chat with any random commander. I've flown past a few (usually at Shinrarta Dezhra, one of the only places where I've actually noticed other people since I joined Mobius) and will flash my lights a couple of times in passing as a kind of "hello" message - I dunno whether any of those commanders noticed or what their names were or anything.
If someone asked me if I wanted to head off and join in a combat situation somewhere I'd probably have to politely decline on the basis that my Cobra currently still has its default guns and my only combat experience in the game was the first three or four of the single player scenario thingys back around the time the Beta came out . Plus I would probably decline any of those Combat Zone thingys anyway because I don't want to mess up my faction with anyone and have them hate me in case their ships decide to start randomly attacking or something . That said, if I ever do gear myself up for combat, pirates will probably be my targets because all the (nice, friendly, legal) factions will hate them, right?

I must admit that I miss many messages due to either being busy or doing something on the second screen, the messages should pop up bigger. But, if someone wanted to wing up I would probably agree to that unless I was busy with something. Can't see that happening at the moment, I'm somewhat remote from most players.

Man, that has not been my experience so far. I joined a couple of days ago and found a wingman right away. I had to jump 190ly to hang, but once I did, I was pleasantly surprised by the open and friendly cooperation. I had a blast BH at a RES even though I wasn't really equipped.

Give it a chance, you may have just caught people busy doing other things and didn't see your hails right away.

I was said hello to by CMDR Gleeson today as I flew through a system (probably Shinrarta Dezhra) and said hi back. I also saw CMDR Fozza a couple of times in Bunda, randomly flying around outside Faraday Ring (not sure what they were doing). Said hi both times but never got a response, then saw him/her again, on a pad in Jameson Memorial as I came in for my final landing before logging off.

I w as asked this morning to join a wing, unfortunately was hurting pretty bad so declined. It did take me a minute to also figure out the comms, but I did respond. Friend me and if I am on and able I will wing. Please understand, I do take a fair amount of meds, so that and pain does stop me from winging.

One thing my son and I have noticed is that wing invites don't always work. It will show sent for the sender but the person it was sent to never receives it. We have had to log out and back into the game to get it work at times, while at other times engaging the fsd or dropping into and area and then resending the invite and then it will show up. So it seems to have some glitches and people you are sending them to may not be receiving them.

i've had a few CMDRs hail me just as i was entering hyperjump or SC, or going out of range. i did type a local reply each time but am 99% sure nobody heard me. it's the thought that counts...
