I actually had a little respect for Gluttony Fang from our dealings with each other on the Frontier Forums, but after viewing the crap he's spewing on Reddit when he has no one looking over his shoulder... there is no respect, especially when he's trying to get people to buy his fabrications as "honest truths"

Come on. It has been said often enough, feeding doesn't make things better. Just look at the signature and avatar of that person together with the amount and length of his/her posts, reflect it against the intellectual impression he/she wants to emanate through his/her style of writing and come to a conclusion.
Or push the holy Ignore button. Matter solved.

So basically Wolf is right. Let's lean back again, and, while letting the children play noisefully in their backyard, enjoy the preferred beverage at hand while not letting your grip slip off the flightstick, of course, light the fireplace and continue with educated talks (and guesses) about star masses, bounty profits, blowing up things the most creative / quickest way, strange space phenomena and all those other fantastic stuff waiting for us out there.

The simple fact that they behave that way and use the term "carebear" just reveal that "the code" is no more than a subgroup from goonswarm.

(Carebear is a term used for a player primarily uninterested in pvp, particularly their definiton of pvp aka 3+ high dps ships vs one maybe two unarmed ones)

Seriously we are talking about the group who would abuse a bug with the copying of bookmarks (that would crash the entire eve-online server when a fleet battle didn't go their way.
Granted they would probably not have been alone in that, given how eve online is catered to paranoid psycho's with a spreadsheet fetish, and if your not one when you start, the game eventually turns you into one.

Somehow the games developer think that's a good thing...
Now being Norwegian I kinda understand both the Icelandic culture and the wicked minority complex they suffer from, when you spend 8-9 month long winter, stuck on an island with volcanos you either drink yourselves to death or start to have an irrational belief in your awesomeness (we got that too, just sans the volcanoes why do you think Norway has a 70% alcohol tax)

Anyhoo I digress, goons are nothing special. Their just internet trolls and they go away when you stop feeding them.
In short don't sweat it it's only annoying if you bother reading their posts.

That may well be Rinzler, but the common name and what appears to be common tactics will draw the comparison.

I have a mixed feelings on The Code. On one hand, they have definitely improved the way they handle things (Especially in the last 6 months or so) and can be quite decent to deal with from what I have seen. On the other hand, the vitriol and hatred for anyone that does not want to play PvP ticks me off. Why they can't understand that some people don't want to do PvP is almost bordering on the absurd. I very much doubt you would find as many people here in Mobius that would be as vehemently opposed to PvP to the point of wanting it taken out of the game as you find there.

Most players want everyone to have a choice to play the way they want.

The drop in the Bucket that we represent have very little impact on CG's and BGS operation.

I do agree that mode switching to defeat game mechanics and being able to oppose PP and such is a pain, but it is the game we are dealing with. I do tend to take the stance that mode switching should have a cool down. But I do think that Solo/Group play should be allowed to switch between whenever. But Open/ Group-Solo should have a cooldown.

But that is another discussion.

The Code do add to the game, just as all the groups do. But for those of us who don't want to partake in PvP are not the scum they make us out to be, just as they are not the scum that people claim The Code are. 6 months ago I would not have felt this way, but I see groups like The Code evolving and becoming a real part of the community that enrich it. They have come a long way in how they deal with things and as they evolve and put rules in place, just as other groups do, it makes their group better. I am not saying that they are perfect, nor are we in our group. But we are all evolving within the game.

My Only issue with them at this point is the hatred for anyone that does not want to play PvP. And that point has been made in this group on a few occasions, including your own actions. They may have their haters, both in Mobius, open, and solo, but I am not one of them. But I also think they should respect our views as well. But, the intentional breaking of rules in groups such as ours shows that they have little respect for people who don't share their PvP only mentality.


PK's and not wanting to PvP are the reason this group exists. I play in this group, and in open, and when my internet connection is sucking rocks, I have to go into solo. If I am in Open and I am run into a PK'er I rage. As we all should. But if I am stopped by the Code and they actually interact with me, then I will interact with them. I may or may not die. That is part of the game.

It is the 4 Cmdr's in FDL's, Condas and Clippers, and pull me out in my Cobra and just blow me away (not because I am wanted, or that they want my cargo) that piss me off. When members of The Code come into a group that has certain rules, such as our group, and break them, just for shits and giggles, then that puts them in the same group as those 4 Cmdrs.
