Because I'd rather have fun with other people than be fun for them only. I'd rather help than harrangue. And most of all, I don't care how big other people's willies are, I'm already happy with what I can do with my own.

The same reason as much of the other people here. I don't like it to be forced into a playstyle others like but I dont. Rather playing together then against each other.

I originally joined when I first started playing (back in December of last year) because I wanted to learn the ropes in an environment free from PVP but not devoid of players, I think at the time I thought I'd get the hang of the game and then head into open.
I quickly realised just what a great bunch of people there are in Mobius, and never ended up going into open, in fact I've never played in open since joining the group and frankly never will.
And apart from ED being such a great game, it's this community that keeps me coming back.

Elite for me is to relax after a day of work by exploring/trading/killing npc pirates. Not going against some innocent fellow player that tries to make it up the ranks. Sure I could play solo but, to be part of a community of like minded players and that their goal is to promote the collaboration between players...well....that is something
And frankly because I ain't no good against those that their idea of fun is group in a wing and kill everyone that they encounter.
