Some clarification please

Postby s7wede » Fri Oct 09, 2015 7:16 am

I bounty hunt exclusively in LTT 15574 with a friend and last night we found ourselves instanced with 3 other mobius players in the Hazardous REZ site in LTT 15574 5. These players would repeatedly try and fly into our laser fire so that we would incur the wanted status and then proceed to attack us. They were flying a Fer-de-Lance, Vulture and Asp respectively while I was in my Python and my friend, a starter, a Cobra Mk III. How is this tolerated in a so called PVE group? Do I have any recourse but to name and shame if I want to play in this group or should I simply abandon ship to my own private group.

The behavior you describe is not tolerated in the group. However, naming and shaming is not allowed here, so please send a report to admins or to forum moderators, ideally with screenshots or with a link to a video, and the players in question will be dealt with.

Usually a PM would be good enough, but as a new poster you won't be able to send PM's (you have to post a few times first). So instead send an email to admin@elitepve.com. Thank you.

PvP is only allowed in Conflict Zones, and under set terms. Report them to one of the administrators. Snap shots of the kill screen is recommended, video footage even better if you have.

OP, this is thankfully very rare and in general players stick to the rules. Like any large group you will very occasionally get a few interlopers who join specifically to cause trouble, but rest assured it happens very infrequently, and when provided with the appropriate evidence the Admins deal with it very swiftly and decisively.

As others have said - get a screen shot of the "you were destroyed by" screen, if they succeed in destroying you. That will get them booted from the group. There's no other way to police it - if you can think of a way for one person (Mobius) to individually vet 12,000 CMDRs and still leave time for anything else, I'm sure he'll be all ears.

It sounds to me like they were kill stealing - putting themselves between you and your target stops you from firing and they get the cash. A similar thing happened to me when I joined Mobius - the other CMDR flew through my multicannon fire. As soon as I realised the risk, I got off the fire button, but there was still lead flying. He opened fire on me but only took out my engines. This was before they could be rebooted, so I ended up having to self destruct. He got to stay in the group because he wasn't named on the death screen.

Now, if I get instanced with someone in a RES who doesn't want to wing up and isn't interested in chat, I just go somewhere else.

why wasn't he kicked for popping your engines?

I imagine it was a lack of proof. Unless you had video evidence that would show it happening, and can then show that you were in Group and not in a CZ, then that would enough proof. I can go into open, show a pic of another member shooting at me, and a pic that says I am playing in Mobius, but that in itself is not enough proof to kick.

I wish there were easier ways to record.

This kind of as(s)inine behaviour is not allowed other than in CZs with requirements met. He will surely be booted if further acts like this are registered.

Please PM the Commanders name to me. One for the block list. :)

Can't remember, sorry - it was back in March that it happened.

It surprised me at the time so I think that even if he'd killed me I wouldn't have got the screen shot. It hadn't occurred to me that I would need evidence just because it hadn't occurred to me that anyone would open fire in a PvE group. I should have known better, really.

Fair enough. There's bound to be a couple of commanders in this gorgeous group that will grind my gears (and vice versa), and I intend to use the block function to maximise my gaming fun. No one on it yet mind. :)
