I've had that happen quite a lot......

One was so close even though my throttle was at zero I yanked it off the desk and a rather crude expletive was screamed.....

The physical effect was I almost cacked my jodhpurs .....

That's why I always advise any new players to throttle down in Hyperspace and SC when exiting......

Oh boy. Had a great time in a RES. Small stuff but nice asteroids. Then I got Wanted status when attacking a Dropship (must have been a Sec right behind or in front of it) and legged it.
Well and after speeding into the station and docking, I saw that my rank was at ... 99%. 1 &/%$( % left only due to unclearable ff.

Is it really so that bounties have become un-payoffable? I mean, seriously ... 300 Cr for some small-scale friendly fire barring me from the RESses in a complete system? For a week, thereafter carrying that thing with me as a "dormant" one?

300 cr shouldn't take too long to turn into a payable fine.

No, not for a week. More like 10 or 15 minutes, for 300c. Check the transaction tab, the duration is displayed there. Once that delay has expired, just jump to another system and back.

Well that would be a great relief. The Wiki sounded like they never go away until expiry after a fixed time. http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Bounty

EDIT Thanks Kiltrathi and Flip! It really was payable after around 15 min. Great!
EDIT Yess. Finally made it to Master! Thanks for the Advice, I wouldn't have tried again today.

EDIT I also tried a three Plasma Acc loadout with the Courier. Read more about the testing results here ... INARA logbook

And people ask why it chose this forum over others and lead them here as well when they start this game.

In game, I'm still "stuck" in LHS-3447. Basically the salesman who sold me the sidewinder thought updating it's OS was a good idea (Win8) not realizing I like it more simple and oldschool. So, me and "Adventure," have been in the star port resetting and wiping all systems. It's taking time, but it means a fresh start though as well.

Should make a rather entertaining "ship's log" though for anyone wishing to read it. (my ship's log is over on Inara) Lol

Made about 5.5 millions in the last two days, running missions to kill Pirates with Victoria (and even if I'm not offered missions as lucrative as her Elite missions, we still share the bounties). 57% to Deadly, now.
