Nav points, trying to get around 350k for a decently kitted viper (decent for a 3 day old player), a few jumps away from the newbie system I spawend in. Got quite a bit closer to my goal yesterday, after a few nice bounties. 301k and change.

I can almost smell the viper.

About 1500 ly out from Vaka heading in the general direction of the core, found a few terraforming candidates and water worlds (looking forward to planetary landings one day).

I expect I'll be talking random shite to myself by the end of the week, and if my baccy runs out - erg ! :)

Thought I'd check the CG at Volungu yesterday, so flew there with my Vulture, entered a warzone and chose faction (For the Empire! HUZZAH!!) just to be dusted within seconds by a CMDR and his Feds friends ... while the rebuy popped onscreen I went to this forum to re-check, seems that for the CG one has to go anti Empire ... good to know, better had read that BEFORE :P

Paid 900k, entered warzone again, saw a CMDR and asked what he chose as faction "as I don't want to PvP!" ... okay, Volungu it shall be this time. Shot a few Empire ships, but with all those Volungu dudes the combat was totally unchallenging and I don't want to ruin my rep with the Empire. Handed in the few combat bonds I gathered, then returned to the RES I started from, to get back the creds I spent for rebuy.

TIL: Read CG carefully, choose faction wisely, Warzones are boring when NPCs are too helpful, RES-hunting is still my favorite pastime. ;)

Enter the Warzone, choose the Empire as your faction, and immediately let your three well-trained Vulture wingmen pop out of frame shift. THEN it should become interesting again.

Would love to do that once.

That would be 4 Vultures against 1 Farragut (?), 3 Condas and at least two handfull of NPC Vipers/Eagles/Cobras, plus the CMDRs that chose Volungu faction ... guess that would be only "interesting" for a moment, but at least the lightshow would be nice 8-)

Fighting for the Empire in Salamandali. There's a Mobius outpost in this system so it feels good to do my Imperial duty and then head to Mobius to cash in the bonds.

Oh yes, but it could also be very interesting to see which difference it makes if the Vulture wing is good at wing and formation tactics and know to play their distances right -- I could imagine they could rock if they know what they are doing. And confronting the Farragut would have to wait, of course ... ;)

Beyond 12,000 bounties/combat bonds combined, just wondering how many more to Elite....

That's quite impressive, Victoria!

And I'm very surprised you're not Elite yet. Because according to this vid, the guys who won the "Race to Elite" contest had:

- 8,563 kills for the one who got the first combat Elite
- 9,032 kills for the one who got the first triple Elite

Thing to remember is that Bounties = number of bounties claimed - I've been watching the counter when I kill an NPC and it can increment by 3 on a single kill - I have over 9000 Bounties claimed and am still Dangerous - only 242 Combat bond kills - so my probable total number of kills is around 4000 or so. And don't forget they tweaked the numbers needed for Elite etc not too long ago, there's a thread on the main forums about it...
