Disappearing NPCs

So I'm in a USS and scan a wanted NPC and open up, nearly killing him on one pass, and when I turn around for a second pass he is gone, along with the other 2 NPCs. No FSD charge detection - just gone.

Then I continue to the outpost to pick up some performance enhancers and head to the nearby Seeking Luxuries. When I exit SC, all the NPCs disappear within a few seconds - about the time the shaking stops. Again, no FSD charge detection - just gone. I do this a few times in a row and do notice the white flash of them jumping, but they still do it almost instantly. Logging out doesn't help. I went to another system to sell the PEs, came back, and it happened again.

I seem to have neutral rep with everybody. I can't figure it out. Any ideas?

It's not the greatest system, so I guess I'll just move along until I find something better and hope this doesn't continue. <_<

Don't know what caused the NPCs at the USS to vanish but it sounds like the luxuries seekers were traveling. Look at the distance on the "Seeking Luxuries" navigation marker. You'll know if they're traveling if the distance is quickly increasing (1 or 2 km per second).

Well, next day everything is back to normal.
