NASA finds Earth's bigger, older cousin

Recent discovery by Kepler indicates a possible real life 'Earth-like' called Kepler-452b 1400 Ly from Sol in the Cygnus constellation. I'd like to check this out in game but stuck at work at the moment.

Anyone care to visit? I'd be agog if ED even represents that planet let alone be earthlike, waterworld, ammonia world, etc

It's only just been discovered so it might not be in ED yet unless the autogen planet maker has spookily made one

There might not even be a Kepler-452b in the game, I've never been that far out yet so I don't know

Just had a look in the database and I don't think there are any Kepler objects in the game does it have a different name

Hmm. Not searchable. But we do know two things:
1. It's 1400 Ly from Sol
2. It's in the Cygnus constellation

That narrows it down a bit. Now I'm itching to go exploring once again!

Well we know it as was in this spot 1400 years ago.
Doesn't this mean that in this game that takes place in year 3300 the this star and solar system has had 2700 years to move?

So before we can find it we need to know in what direction the star is traveling relative to sol or something else and calculate where it will be in year 3300.

Nothing is stationary in space and in a civilization where we can travel dozen of light years in mere moments, actual hands on exploration of systems would be the biggest and most useful thing you could do with a spaceship.
