Yup, my ingame name is derived from Duke Nukem and a special brand of drink (see avatar ).

Been gaming for some odd 35 years now, including Elite on the C64, Frontier and First Encounters. Took away a lot of my time... but worth it... so worth it.

Finally gave in to the temption and bought the new game on the steam sale (along with horizons). I am still overwhelmed by the sheer scope of the game as well as the graphics. I don't care that much for graphics, but seeing the first white dwarf with two pulsar like arms was a sight to behold

Love the game, getting into it pretty easily somehow, no death yet, about 1 mil now and upgrading my sidey left and right. I am not much of a PVP'er, I like to build and play together. I did tick the option to join Factions, but if it's ok I will galavant across the universe like a lost Q for now

I saw your name popup John Luke (Pick an Art?). As a diehard trekkie (and the question kirk vs picard doesn't even deserve an answer in my case) I can appreciate the name, laugh literally out loud when I saw it .
So thanks for all the info Mon Capitain, I have asked some things on the Elite forums already. Cruising steadily to my Cobra (if anything for nostalgic reasons ). Though I upgraded my sidey on all fronts now and I really like it.

Combats still kinda tough, been killstealing a bit around RES and beacons, halfway through harmless now. Do I get more points when I kill something solo?

Nope. By all means.... let the cops do most of the heavy lifting until you're in a bigger ship. The only way you'll get more money per bounty is by installing and using a Kill Warrant Scanner. That will dig up bounties that the pirate in question has with other factions. The bigger the fish, the more different a KWS can make. I've seen the bounty of a highly ranked Conda go up $150k or more by using a KWS.
