CMDR ptoxiq says hello from ATL, GA, US

Postby ptoxiq » Fri Dec 18, 2015 6:10 pm

Hello, all. Noob here. Looking forward to learning in-game from you guys and contributing when I can. Maybe this is more than you need to know, but might help if there are others out there in similar circumstances who would like to connect: 42 years old; spinal cord injury rehab nurse x9 years; father of twins (boy and girl) 20 months old and 4 year old daughter. I have limited time to game, but consider ED worth my time, especially if I can contribute to a healthy gaming community (which this seems to be).

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, ptoxiq

You'll find plenty of people here that are more than willing to help.

Please feel free to add your name to the In game friends list thread, and check out our TeamSpeak servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius. We have our own Discord (voice and text chat) servers for supporters of Mobius, as well as our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

Added! Thanks for the greetings. See you soon, perhaps. Meanwhile, will be reviewing how to communicate in-game. I don't have teamspeak set up yet. Is there a preferred communication protocol for Mobius? (Maybe I should read the Policy page and other stickies or FAQs before more questions.)

I look forward to winging with you soon! Thanks for the add. ;)

The game has text and voice chat options. Here is some info for text chat. The voice chat is easy to use, but includes some static and radio background noise which is great for immersion, but not great for easy communications. Honestly, I use in game voice chat most of the time when I'm winged with someone, but I have TeamSpeak and Discord setup as well. There are usually several guys on TS at any given time chatting about pretty much anything.
