CDR Zax,
Here for exploration a bit of trading and the occasional bounty hunt. I chose PVE because it is a more relaxed style of play. In EST so if you see me online just send me a message...

Hi,
I'm Rakil Torqist. I've mostly played Solo until now, with a few forays into Open mode. I've done a mix of trading & bounty hunting to get where I am now - just got to Baron rank with the Empire & about to buy the Imperial Clipper :)
I'm also allied with the Alliance, but barely have any contact with the Federation. I'm at the Trailblazer, Merchant, and Combat Expert ranks.

I'm just about to send the request to join the in-game group!
edit: Just sent my request to join in game, and I look forward to meeting some of you in game!

Cheers,
Rakil

Captain Willard here, Bought my first computer in 1985, an Atari ST, I was 30 yrs old and elite was one of the first and best games I'd found. Tried open at first but was quickly dismayed after being reduced to starter money and starter ship after 3 weeks of play. I went to solo and been living the dream. Allied with both feds and empire and maxed both ranks, working on being allied with alliance next, haul rares when I can find them, and flipped an outpost for fun. So much to do. :) Be sure to post any and all goals, requests, targets.
OH and btw, just noticed 2-3 ppl tried to friend me in that chat thing. Took me 2 weeks before I even noticed. :) My bad. :(

A fellow ST'er! You must have gotten the original ST with the million cables! Slightly different situation for me - my parents bought me my first ST in 86 or 87 - The 520 STFM ( i think. I was 10 or 11 but I'd converted BBC basic to Apple basic & vice versa on our old Electron & My dad's work Apple 3. They encouraged my geekiness so got me the new fancy machine :) ). Internal psu, double sided floppy, and TV modulator built in! Eventually upgraded it to 1mb after some years, then when it finally broke I replaced it myself with the newer STe - I'd been saving my pocket money & odd job money to get myself a hard disk so it all worked out.

Elite was one of those games I'd come back to time & again, as was Frontier/FFE on the PC.

Good luck in game CMDR Willard!

Hello all. CMDR Thanewright here, flying the Asp Aonbharr in and around 78 Ursae Majoris, trying to help out the Alliance where I can. Flew a Vulture in the onion head wars down by Autahenetsi and bought the Aonbharr with the paycheck. That old Vulture is sitting in the space dock under a tarp, just in case I need her again, but for now I've left war behind me. I'd like to say the Aonbharr was the ship I wanted, but really she was the ship I could afford. Pinned to the cockpit is a picture of a Python, all sleek lines and raw power. One day I'll walk into that shipyard and throw my money down, in the meanwhile if you've got cargo to move, I've got a ship that will move it.

Commander Ashfield reporting in

Postby noldunar » Wed Jun 03, 2015 12:00 pm

Hi All,

Commander Ren "Ash" Ashfield here from Germany.

Played all previous versions of Elite and was still playing them on emulators until E: Dangerous came out. Premium Beta backer. I am also a role-player and for me Elite always was a single player experience where I could imagine my own universe, which was easy thanks to all the great lore and fiction that came with the games.

My play time is limited, being a working father of a three year old daughter and happily married. The time I do have I want to play at my own pace, following my own goals and imagine my own universe without the risk of getting preyed upon for the simple reason that I am a human player. Not only is it annoying, it also destroys all immersion.

Since I am happy with the little ships (Cobra MK III and Viper for me) I don't have to go chase money or grind Cr/h so I am really enjoying myself in-game.

You can find my in-game backstory in the official Frontier Lore and Roleplaying forum if you are interested. There I also plan to chronicle my in-game events in a personal log to give them some more background.

Right On Commanders!

Hi Guys,

Thank you for the add, CMDR Capt Senior here from sunny Dubai, 37 years old, but played the original for years when i was very young when i saw my dad playing it i was hooked, spent along time playing on the Amstrad CPC464 me flying and mu cousin co-piloting on the keyboard doing missiles and speed etc...

I have only played solo mode, just because i heard alot about the griefers and hacks that are about in open, i know it would be very rare for me to run into anyone but it would be just my look to get griefed full up on bountys.

Anyway wanted a safe friendly group to play on as my dad is getting ready to play the game and wanted to wing up, but also have other CMDR's to help him out when i cant fly with him as he is back in the UK.

Thanks again and see you all out in the black, Fly Safe CMDR's
