Been messing around with computers since 1984 (err MSX is a "computer"; 1986 was when I was allowed to touch dad's 80-88 IBM PC)

I love coop multiplayer and hate competitive multiplayer. Usually that means I play single player.

Tried "Open play" in ED for a while and hated 2 things:
1 - Getting jumped by some punk while trying to land
2 - "Docking Request Denied" - All pads full - wait in line

When I heard about this group I was stoked!
Looking forward to not having a heart attack when seeing a hollow icon in the middle of a firefight.

I live in Orlando , Florida . I am a 53 year old retired disabled man . I been playing all types of PC games since the 1999 when i first got hooked on Quake. Since than i have enjoyed many of these PC games and Simulators. I have been a member of MSflights.net for 3 years in Microsoft flight simulator X . One of my fellow friends in our group got me hooked on Elite dangerous And since then our group has grown to 13 fellow Commanders . Since then i found out about your great group here and wanted to join up because i have already lost 3 ships by players who just are there to mess you up just for kicks . I am really in this game to explore and trade and just have a good time . Not to be thinking that every time i join some nut to not say another word is gonna destroy my ship for the heck of it. But i am glad there is a group like yours out there gentelman . Hope to talk to you soon on your teamspeak channel .

Well, well, well...

It seems I neglected to post in this thread, even though I've been here a while now. So anyway, as you'll see from my avatar, I'm Siobhán, a level 46 Social Justice Necromancer / Pilot hailing from somewhere in London (that's in England, UK by the way). I'm generally powered by red wine, craft beer, dark chocolate and trouble. In rl I suffer from depression, so if I suddenly (here or in game) get withdrawn or mopey, it's probably not (at least wholly) down to something you've said or done. More likely, I'm just down. Also madly in love with my partner of 3 years who also plays in Mobius.

In game, I currently fly an Asp, and can usually be found either around LHS 3505, Allowair, or doing rares runs out of Altair. Last time I logged out however, I was in Lave.

I started playing Elite on a BBC B back when I was a lot tinier than I am now in the early 80s and didn't play any of the sequels 'til Oolite and occasionally played on BeebEm on my Nexus tablet.

I use a Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS X, Sennheiser headphones and a single 1080p monitor.

Have you tried mind tricks? Like while she's asleep, keep whispering "Elite, Elii-ite, Elii-ite. Play Elite, dear" softly into her ear. Or maybe add subliminal messages in her favorite tv-shows. Y'know, quick flashes of Elite Dangerous' logo between frames etc. Might work.

And to make this post even remotely on topic I should add that I am indeed from Finland, from the northern-ish parts of it. Currently 37 years old, mentally maybe 15. And as one might assume by the looks of my avatar, I'm an avid KISS fan. Been so for 30 years. What comes to gaming I usually prefer simulator/sandbox/story driven games. I have a Logitech G27 for racing and trucking, Xbox pad for Street Fighter and random platformers and the odd sports game I sometimes find myself playing. Currently waiting for my Saitek X55 to arrive so I can get back to ED. What else? I like to draw, paint and take photographs. And between or during all the aforementioned activities I like to drink beer, especially weissbier. And a glass of quality cognag every now and then works wonders as well.

New to ED and happy to be here, so far I have ran into one of you fine folks in game(passing ships in the letterbox, there was a slight collision, them clippers are quite big)
