Welcome and congrats. Although I also spent a lot of time on the original I never got to Elite ! Don't be affraid, you don't need a "real mean machine" to fight NPCs. I made quite some money in bounties with my Eagle at game start and only used the insurance once.

Can't wait to fly wings with some of you fine folks. I've been trading my way up to a clipper, and I was loving the bounty hunting before the patch in RES's. Checked out the new variety in beta 1.2 yesterday, and can't imagine anything better than hunting Anaconda's with some teammates

I try to do a little of everything, and I'm probably the sort of guy who'd spend a lot of time in Open Play, but ... I like the idea of a community like this. One that acknowledges that the universe out there is dangerous enough without us turning on one another.

Oddly enough, the only Elite game I didn't play back in the day was the original; I remember my amazement that Frontier fit on a single floppy, and my frustration at the bugs in V1 of First Encounters ... and I remember the warm feeling of finally getting into an Asp Explorer.

If you guys will have me, I'm looking forward to flying with you guys sometime.

Commander Noboard here, long time Elite fan having played most versions growing up. Loving the idea of a PvE universe as fighting was always secondary to my fun in Elite. Just starting Dangerous properly after burning myself out in the beta and the server wipes. WIll hopefully get some serious exploration done in the coming months.
