CMDR Forked here.

I'm a 32 year old/young (the years really do fly past now..) Norwegian dude living on the west coast in that incredibly beautiful country. I moved to Ålesund in 2007 after 20+ years in Oslo and have not looked back since.

It's sad to say, but this is my first run in with Elite as a personal experience. I've heard about the games pretty much since I started playing computer games some 26 years ago, but for some reason I never tried them.

Purchased a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS for this game and I'm eagerly awaiting the Oculus Rift. So far I've been playing solo, but this group looks like it's exactly what I need.

Real life "prevents" me from being anything but a casual player now. Work, GF, two dogs and three cats.
Speaking of work, I work at my ISP. That has all kind of perks, so I highly recommend it :p

CMDR Allan Quatermaine here. I go by the same name "fandango" on the ED forums.

I'm 35, based in the UK and worked for many years as a software engineer. I've done some app development with friends in my spare time (including a game on the Apple store), regularly take part in Ludum Dare (48hr game-making compo) but usually spend time doing artwork. My first experience with Elite was watching my brother play it on the ZX Spectrum. I seem to recall just liking the **beeeeeuuuuwwwww** sounds of hyperspace. For me, the excitement began in Frontier on the Atari ST and then onto Frontier First Encounters (I managed to complete the Thargoid mission without encountering any of the bugs). It's been an exciting process to be involved with the beta and I'm looking forward to the full release.

Would like to join PVE as (and this sounds very Victor Meldrew) I'm just getting a bit sick of the immature nonsense. It's just the attitude of some PVP players and I don't want to lose the fun of actually seeing other players in the world as Solo is a pretty miserable experience without other people.

Currently using a Logitech Extreme3D PRO, but the base-buttons are awfully glitchy. I haven't assigned any weapons to those, so no fear of friendly fire! (otherwise I'd be firing constantly like a catherine-wheel).
