I've found if I try to go by car, it always takes as long or worse, even if I leave earlier.
Lucky. My neighbor takes the Rock Island every day, and I'm always jealous watching him walk the two blocks to the station and knowing he will get get to read/listen to ipod for the next hour or so while I'm on the expressway. We leave at the same time, but he takes the train to the end, and I get off the expressway nowhere near a Metra station. Wish I could do as he does. Back in the day, when I worked at the CBOE, I was on that train, and it was great. Especially when they had a beer car.
Looks like my luck is going to run out tomorrow with the snow.
