My commander's name is Shaen. I'm 32, and I live outside Seattle, WA.
I've been playing Elite for about 2-3 months now. I requested an invite to Mobius my first week after watching a beginner's guide Obsidian Ant produced. I'd hoped to bring some of my normal gaming buddies into this but they have no interest in this game so I'm hoping to make some friends here. I don't get a ton of gaming time and much of the time I do get I am not available for chat as I don't use headphones so my wife doesn't feel too ignored
But I will pop into chat on Friday and Saturday nights around 9-9:30pm PST for a 3-4 hours. I currently fly a Python as a cargo hauler. I do passenger missions for fun but am currently engaged in the Aditi system earning rep within the Empire trying to earn the Clipper. I also have an Asp Explorer that I use for local exploration. Veil West, Heart & Soul, Barnards Loop...etc.
I'm an average combat pilot but I prefer speed and agility to escape danger vs combat. None of my ships are normally armed for this reason. I'm 100% PvE focused which is why I wanted to join Mobius group. My focus within the game is exploration. I want to plan a long term expedition but haven't decided on a ship. I am very into immersion so I'm trying out different ships. The Anaconda was far too slow and cumbersome for my taste. The Python is great but the forward and side views are highly obstructed. The pictures of the Clipper make me think it'd be a pleasure to fly around the galaxy. The Asp is wonderful but sounds like a prop plane in atmo and if I ever do multi-crew I'd like to be able to see my co-pilot.
