CMDR Rollthor

Postby boxemall » Sun Nov 13, 2016 11:18 pm

Hi there!

Been playing on and off since the game started but haven't made much progress so far. took a break but recently came back and started to work on engineers. got me a python and have an asp explorer to be a bit more versatile. now i feel like getting bored again since most of the time i have to play alone. just doesn't feel right. was talking to a few ppl who pointed me in this direction (mobius). i am mostly EU TZ but have weird working hours so i could play on US as well from time to time (if that makes sense at all). i read the rules and introduction on this forum and have to say that it sounds good to me.

if there is anything you would like to know just shoot me a question and i'll try to answer it asap.

hopefully yo'll accept my request to join group "mobius".

CMDR Rollthor out!

Greetings and welcome to Mobius, Commander Rollthor.

The Python and Asp are great ships and will serve you well as you progress in the game.

Please feel free to add your name to one of our 'In game friends lists'

In game friends list for PC
Xbox EU and Xbox US

and check out our TeamSpeak servers or Discord (voice and text chat) servers to easily chat with, and possibly wing up with other commanders.

Also, make sure to check the Policy page if you haven't already Image.

On top of all of that, we also have a Facebook group and Twitter feed.

There is a lot of great info on the message board, and we have compiled a long list of Tips and Tricks to help new players acclimatize to the game while having fun.

Finally, if you are interested in being involved, go here to see information about our player group faction, the Order of Mobius (based at Rafferty's Mobius station in the Azrael system). We have our own Order of Mobius Twitter feed.

tx for letting my post through. :-)

i already joined discord and set up teamspeak but haven't logged on yet. was waiting for approval of this post and acceptance to the group ingame.
does the facebook group serve any purpose? i don't use facebook usually and try to stay away from it exceptions being the case when it's useful.

had a look at the friends list but jeez that one is huuuge. there probably is no way to add them all at once, right?

regards

The FB group has some overlap of members from the forum, but mostly a different group of Mobius members are active there. I am part of our FB group, and quite often pick up tips and offer solutions there. You get much quicker responses to questions there as compared to the forum. It's certainly a personal preference on whether or not to join it or be active in any of our social media.

The friends list is a bit of a beast now. you could add a few names at a time, or simply add yourself to the list and let others add you to their friends list. You'll have more in-game friends if you take the time to add members from the list. Once again, it's all about personal preference.

When I initially added members from the list, I would run E-D windowed, and set the window to a smaller size than my desktop so that I could move it to the side. I copied the friends list to a document on my HD. I'd then view the friends list on one side of my screen, and manually type in the names into E-D. When I'd had enough for the day, I'd put an indicator on my file (like >>>>>) to know where I left off.

That method was faster than copy, alt-tab, paste, alt-tab, copy, rinse and repeat.
