Hello!

I'm AlanEsh and I'm a PvE'aholic.
I did my time in the non-consensual PvP worlds of past games (Shadowbane, WoW, EVE), and simply no longer care for the frenetic gameplay it brings. Elite interests me in ways that PvP only distracts from, so you simply won't find me in the Open gameworld.

I'm quite new, only been playing for about a month. I play evenings in the central US timezone; hope to see you out in the black!

Greetings!!!
I am Cmdr Vernonator of the Empire. Only been at this since early Dec '15 and love the game (warts and all). Got a bad taste for Open my first couple days thanks to an overly agressive Anaconda sitting outside my station. Looking forward to playing with a like minded group of people. Keep an eye out for me and lets wing up and smoke a RES !!!!

CMDR Valhund reporting,

Request to join sent in game. I like the idea of seeing fellow CMDRs on my travels without the pointless PvP aspect.

Although I've had the game since release I've only really started playing properly very recently.

So starting out on my new career as a space faring citizen I decided to run a few local surface missions as I acclimatised myself with my Sidewinder, the SRV and planetary interactions. I made some decent credits initially and also some mistakes in taking a few missions that were a bit too good to be true and learned there was usually a reason for missions carrying a high price tag. I managed to survive well enough but felt I needed to see what more was 'out there'.

I found myself a Cobra III at a reasonable price tag and even managed to outfit it to a reasonable specification for doing a bit of trading for better income. Starting to trade general commodities I moved further away from my starting system and also started investigating signal sources on my travels. I often found slightly less honorable citizens trying to make their own living by stealing my cargo. Not well equipped to fight but knowing my Cobra's speed I was usually able to outrace them and get away. But I felt that I was comfortable enough with my ship's controls that I should try and improve my combat skills.

Searching through the shipyards of a few stations and I found myself looking at a Viper. It was a mark 3 variant. Somewhat beat up (presumably from an unknown but colourful history) but entirely serviceable and I knew the reputation of the Viper made it a worthy adversary in combat. I had made enough credits to replace and upgrade several components to improve the efficiency of the craft and started looking into nearby systems for extraction sites where I knew pirates liked to operate as the local mining operations often presented them with easy targets.

I I invested my time now policing these sites and protecting the mining efforts from hostile craft, albeit in an unofficial capacity. Inevitably my efforts were sometimes not enough but I invested most of my bounty earnings into more improvements for the ship and with the additional combat experience it minimized losses.

Soon I had more than enough credits to replace my ship once more and following my experiences with the Viper I opted to upgrade for the type IV and had more than enough to outfit with top of the line modules, shields and armor. The Viper IV was a sound investment and although I did not have a penchant for naming my previous ships this one became known as the Little Brick. Primarily due to it's awful turn speed! I carried on with bounty hunting in most of the systems I visited as it was still turning a good profit and I had a ship that was more than up to the task.

Running though other shipyard listings I then found my next upgrade - a pristine Vulture. Seeing the larger weapon mounts made this an obvious choice for moving up my bounty hunting career as I knew these would be able to take on the larger craft easier than the medium multi cannons I was using until then. I handed over the 5 million asking price and set to work on the upgrades. I now had a good idea of the equipment needed to make this a ship to be feared and made even more profit hunting higher bounties in the more hazardous extraction sites where the local authorities don't seem to tread.

But now I find myself somewhat weary of ship to ship combat and have a desire to move further out of/into the galaxy. Considering a more sedate life as a trader I started to look at trading missions on the station bulletin boards. Some of these missions however seem to require the movement of commodities by the more discreet commanders. Usually with a no questions asked policy and the added challenge of not involving the authorities. But on the plus side the payments are generous given the potential difficulties so I decided now that I'm up to the challenge.

Not wanting to sell the Vulture I have found an Exploration Asp. She's not much to look at and I'm no billionaire so she still has mostly mediocre equipment fitted but she's sturdy and has ample room for more conventional trading if I can find the routes. Although the bank balance is low I figure that I can start out with a fresh ship, a fresh budget and see if I can make the profit needed to turn this into an exceptionally efficient but otherwise unremarkable ship as far as the authorities are concerned.

(It was also make a damn fine exploration ship if the mood takes me and I always have the Vulture stored under a sheet back at 'base' if I need it!)

Hello Cmdrs, I'm Anfield Marauder in game - been playing 'Solo' for 12 months so far to get the basics covered, I want experience all that ED/Horizons has to offer so this will be another one to try. I'm all up for blowing NPCs outta the dark and still learning the combat side of the game - this forum/arena hopefully, will allow me to do that without interference from others....though the ability to meet and speak with other Cmdrs will be great (like I said, only played Solo so far!)
See you all in there soon - Anfield Marauder

Hello all, I go by Belshazar or Bel. I just picked ED Horizons about a week ago. I liked it so much I bought a Saitek x55 Rhino just to play this game. I have been playing solo so far. Just wanted to get a feel for the game before playing with others. I joined Mobius because I tend to be a team player and wanted to play with others instead of pvp. If I get in the mood for pvp I will just go to the Arena. So this is me a noob lost in the big black looking for friends.
