Hi all,

Commander Damocles here. Been playing on Mobius for a little while, but decided to check in here too. I am a BBC Micro Elite veteran and was heaps excited when Elite kickstarter was launched - I backed it at Founder level and have been really enjoying the game over the last year.

Progress is slow, time is my biggest enemy (3 children) but my trade rank is looking nice at Tycoon level and I am currently working on my combat and Empire ranks (Master and Viscount) in preparation for buying a Cutter to complete my Elite trade rank.

I had a little fleet going at one point, but it has all been sold off and spent on my Anaconda for pew pew purposes.

I choose the name Damocles as a nod to the old Mercenary games - I expect a few of you will remember them.

Enjoy and maybe see you in the black sometime O7

My name's Ripin3, and I chose PvE cause PvP because tis just so lonely in this game for me that I'd rather fight with people than against them. Plus I don't have the heart for pirating or being a senseless murderer. =D

Hello Mobius group - my name is Anthony Ashworth (CMDR Deathmar Vi)

I am an old Elite Veteran that's been playing the game and all its sequels on various formats since 1985 starting with the BBC micro.
I live in Worcestershire, UK am happily married with 4 great kids and I'm a self employed I.T technician.

I backed Elite Dangerous as soon as I heard of its release (beta premium £100) and although I had my concerns about immersion and enjoyment at 43 years of age I can honestly say its restored my faith in gaming which I had in more recent years become disillusioned with. I have now clocked around 600 hours according to Steam and that doesn't include the hours before the Steam client release :D

I love the fact Elite has such a great community (mostly because allot of you are my age lol) and everyone on forums ect is friendly.

I decided to join Mobius because although I love the multi-player aspect of the game I am not the best combat pilot but can most of the time hold my own PVE, and when I struggle with that I'm great at running away

I look forwards to meeting you in the black!

CMDR Deathmar Vi.

Hello all

I'm CMDR SOLRAC TOLAN and I've played Elite along time ago in 1985 with the ZX Spectrum port, by Firebird Software.
Now I'm back to explore and do a bit of trading in the galaxy. Nice to meet you all.

Fly safe.

Hi guys, welcome from another new recruit. Sounds like we all have similar experiences of Elite, and yes, it really is a fantastic game which has remained true to the original game. See you in the stars.

Dang there are so many previous-game-experienced here! Feeling like a very little fish in a gigantic ocean as this is my first Elite experience!
Go easy gents!

ow do?

Cdr Jonty here.

Played original on the Spectrum128K, Archemedes, Elite II on the Amiga 1200 and now this since kickstarter days.

Why choose pve over pvp?

I believe it is more satisfying long term, and you can explore with less likelihood of being hassled by more pirates than necessary.

Currently piloting a Cob IV, though also have a III and a Sidey around the old core worlds.
Still find outfitting confusing.
