CMDR Apteryx0 here. Based in Michigan but from New Zealand originally (hence the name Apteryx) where I first started playing Elite in 1984....

Hi, Not yet been accepted or approved. Playing in Solo - mainly as an exobiologist and explorer. Enjoying the game in those roles and accidentally ventured into open on the Community Goal. Yes, you can guess what happened ! That's why I sought out Mobius. I think the game has a lot of opportunities for community - the squadrons are too confusing - huge assumptions made about experience and use of jargon. I'm from the old skool Elite - BBC micro wireframe and remember imagining an online, global game where you could land on planets and dock at stations (and experience the interiors) and hey presto ! Like that - here we are !

You won't see me to say "hi" - I play solo. Looking forward to being accepted

Hey all, Magnaric/Zylvagh here (characters in various other MMOs). Applied to Mobius but awaiting approval.

30s dude from Canada, chill gamer, ttrpg nerd, book enthusiast, and possible part-Dwarf (big beard).

Got into this game recently on a whim, because it was on sale and scratched that space-opera itch, and I'm loving it. The learning curve is steep, but after an initial day of raging and frustration, I'm kind of getting the hang of it now.

I've been doing solo because I like pve and story focus in games, and I just don't find pvp relaxing or rewarding. So I'm really looking forward to this game being a nice way to de-stress.

I reinstalled elite 2 weeks ago. Which will be my 3rd reinstall since i first got the game in 2015. I was very surprised to learn about this group just this morning. Looking forward to seeing others in space without gank anxiety.

A very very long time ago I played the original Elite on a bbc computer. Yes I'm old enough. I was hooked way back then when I was a kid. I always wondered if they reproduced it with our modern capabilities these days but I really had no idea. Not a clue it had developed into a game the size of our galaxy. (I haven't been gaming for a long time)

I've been playing it for the first time today and I am hooked again. Such a joy to play even though I have no idea where all the buttons are yet. And that lightspeed stuff is crazy. I still don't know how to stop where I need to most of the time but I'll get the hang of it eventually.

Anyway I am definitely a PvE type of player. I saw this group on Steam and followed the crumbs.

Oh my commander name is Lydian Flux but I'm still just in the starter zone for a while I think.

I'm CMDR Mysturji, a Founding Member of The Elite, due to spending more money than I could justify at the time on the Kickstarter to get Elite:Dangerous made, because I wanted to play the game, and a member of the Mobius PVE group since forever. I wasn't playing nearly as much as I used to until recently, because reasons, but then... new ships! Colonisation!
I also have an alter ego - CMDR Mihendricks, for whom I signed up here so he could get into the Mobius PVE group as well. Both had been in Colonia for years, but they came back to the bubble for the Colonisation CG(s). Mysturji is back in Colonia now (hoping to colonise something, when colonisation is unlocked in & around Colonia), but Mihendricks is sticking around the bubble to gather materials for engineering.

Commander Mike Assynt, returning player now that my PC doesn't crash when I load Odyssey!
I seem to still have access to the old mobius group and have just completed the form to get into the active one (Eurasia).
In the meantime, I'm off out to try and get some exobiology done

Welcome back then CMDR. Crashing pc's when you feel like playing your favorite game is very frustrating. Glad to hear you got that sorted.

I'm sure you've all heard this story before, but here's the short version of mine. I started playing Elite several years ago. Initially played in open play and payed close attention to the security level of systems thinking it was like EVE where players couldn't just open up on you in "secure" space without getting almost-instantly deleted by system security ships. After getting past the initial flight mechanics, I used my Sidewinder to get enough cash to get a Hauler which got enough cash for an Asp Explorer. I was doing the engineering grind to get my FSD upgraded... went into orbit of Deciat and almost immediately got interdicted... and subsequently insta-gibbed by some other commander.

From that day onward I've played Elite for a month or two here and there, but always in solo or the occasional private group when I have a friend who is like oh you play Elite? Let's goooo. But overall, the universe has felt empty and sad, and I quickly find myself bored and move on to other games. One of those friends just told me about this not-so-little community this morning, and I've not even had my coffee yet and took time out to join and write this post lol so needless to say I am pumped about joining y'all in my shiny new Cutter

Hi guys,

Commander JAZZGURU here.

I have submitted a form, even though I seem to remember already being a member. I've been away from ED for 3 years (wow), but now I'm back. I have severe memory issues, so wasn't sure if I was already a member or not, then went in game and found that I could already join the Mobius Euro group. Hope that's not a problem.

(I did read on Google that the private groups were no longer active and you now just play in Open. I got a bit confused by that, but that might have just been an AI mistake)

Anyway, see you out there in the black!!!
