I just applied as a member for the Mobius group. I actually thought about it for months now and right now I'm taking their advice to introduce myself for a bit, so here we go...
I'm a 38 year old guy from Germany, so my native language is German but my English should be decent enough. I've been playing ED for about one and a half year now, I think. I really love sci-fi and I really love sci-fi games, have been playing them since I was little. I think my piloting career started when I was about 10 or so with Wing Commander, back in the day
In the game as well as in real life I'm a freelancer. I mostly do social work, tutor kids in English and German and sometimes I do translations.
I've been kinda busy in ED, so I already have a wide array of ships. Currently I'm working on my Federation rank, so I can add the Corvette to my roster
But I noticed I missed the community aspect in the game more and more over time, playing together, talking to people, maybe discover distant star systems together and what not. I often play together with a friend of mine, but he lost interest in ED for the moment and knowing him, it could take a while to rekindle, so I finally made the step and joined this nerdy bunch here 
Ive heard very mixed things about playing openly and I'm not really interested in PVP and I definitely don't want to get shot down in my shiny Cutter, while hauling vast amounts of bio waste or stuff like that... so Mobius seems to be the place for me to be
