Huh? Did you mean to quote the double ammonia planet? They are certainly orbiting their common center of mass, but I was just using the common vernacular already used in this thread. Although what you say is technically true for all bodies because of their mutual gravitational attraction, when one body is clearly going around the outside of another body, I don't know what word to use in place of orbit. :P

Btw, nice shots of the Viper, Victoria. I thought it was much smaller than the Vulture.
It's time to give this another go.

Nice shots, Loriath. I like darker images - they seem more space like.

What's up with the cockpit view - is that a shop, or can you kill the holograms by shutting them down? It reminds me of just before dying, but w/o the sparks and fire.

Um no - the black hole, which you said was orbiting the sun even though you can see its orbit line passing through the sun.

Roger Wilco Jr wrote:...Although what you say is technically true for all bodies because of their mutual gravitational attraction.

True. My understanding is that when the centre of mass is inside one of the bodies - That's the object being orbited. If the centre of mass is outside both bodies, they are orbiting each other.

Orbits are even more complicated than that - if there are more than two objects, they tend to follow a spirograph pattern as a result of orbital resonance (other bodies pulling or releasing the orbiting body) ED seems to model purely circular orbits but even the simplest orbits are elliptical, and very few orbits are simple. :)

Thanks.

CTRL-ALT-G will disable the HUD display. Hit it again to turn it back on. Also, CTRL-F shows FPS and CTRL-B shows network traffic. Be advised, if FPS and NETWORK display is on, it will show up in the Pictures you take.

Stumbled upon a teeny tiny nebula with a black hole in it.

Scooping fuel is very much like making love to a beautiful woman. First check the target is hot enough,
then approach slowly. Once close enough, pull out your scoop and fill her up. After you're done just
gently pull away, turn around and leave.

I wonder sometimes how close two objects can get without crashing into each other.
