de Carabas wrote:I'm happy with the new version, it works in the 1.4 beta ok. Interestingly it finds systems for the CQC arenas so something to investigate there.....

One thing that has occured is that if thow that want to get involved in the CQC (which is fun) it would be useful to have a different bindings file for control setup's than a normal all-rounder. I'm thinking of adding functionality to be able to swap in/out bindings files as needed while taking backups etc (unless anyone knows if this has been done already?). It turns the app to a more general utility than just playing with the images and videos but could add some value.

Thoughts?

I like the idea of being able to swap setups, but I personally think it'd be better in its own app. I find that usually very specialized applications are much better and more intuitive than those that try to do many different things. Also it would probably be easier for you to maintain in the long term.

Yes, good points.

I have a bug report for you, De Carabas. But unfortunately I'm not sure what triggered the problem or how to reproduce it.

Using the version you linked to here a few days ago when you asked for it to be tested before official release (marked 1.0.0).

I noticed yesterday that the system name didn't change in a few days. The screenshots were dealt with as expected (converted, moved and renamed) but for some reason, the current system name never changed. Relaunching the application solved the problem for now. I'll keep an eye on it to see if it reproduces.

And a feature request: I'd like an option to capitalize the system name, in the file names. Some system names have mixed capitalization, i.e. "Blae Eaec PH-V d2-644" and I find that harder to read in file browsers than "BLAE EAEC PH-V D2-644".

Flip, for the request for option to capitalize the system name - no problem. Can have for next version.

For the system name bug, can you let me have the output.log file (same directory as the .exe)? Should help me to see what's going on.

Sure? Its creation date is yesterday at the time I relaunched the application.

Created or last changed? It should be appended to after each session. If it was created yesterday then I think my brain is going to hurt working out why (unless you have the .exe in a different place than before).

OK, I checked its contents, and turns out that Windows is lying (what a surprise!). It says created, modified and last accessed yesterday, but the contents starts on August the 30th. I'm going to send it to you.

Got it, thanks!

You really like taking screenshots!

From what I can see the issue is that the app is not realizing that a new log file has been created so keeps going back to an old one.
Can you talk me through how you leave your system between gaming sessions? Do you close down the game (and/or the SSC)? Only drop back to the main menu? Full reboot? It looks from the log that the SSC stays running at least or it wouldn't keep a record of the last netlog file.

I think I need to put a new check in there that compares the last known netlog with the most recent one in the directory.....

Well you know, take twenty, keep one or two. :)

Most of the time I quit the game but keep SSC running and put the PC to sleep. I still reboot at least once every two or three days, because you know, it's Windows, but only when I have to.

Oh, also that test version I temporarily kept it on the Desktop (just moved it into its own folder now, replacing the previous version).
