<Looks at recommended specs>

Does this mean I have a reason to upgrade my graphics card? But to make that worthwhile I would probably want to upgrade my monitor, too. Might as well add some memory while I'm at it.

Im in the wait and see camp. Have a i5 4570 3.2 Ghz and a 760 GTX. really wondering if that recommended 3rd gen i7 is so much faster then my 4th gen i5.

might switch to a 980

My guess is that you'll be fine, I have a first gen i7 and a 670 GTX, I've never seen anything processor limited.

I got a i5 4670k @ 3.4Ghz and a 960GTX.

I had an old i7 920 (first generation i) so the if was an upgrade from that, but it doesn't see go much over 50% really, certainly not while playing ED.

If you should upgrade anything in bang for buck I would recommend starting with the GPU and only the GPU at this time.
