Some confusions.

So, is it just fines that can't be paid off but expire after 7 days? Because if that goes for bounties it sucks, especially if you accidentally fire on security. Hope still can pay off bounties right away.

From what I read it sounds like turreted weapons are going to be more viable so they don't go and make you get bonties for them accidentally hitting security or unwanted targets?

Seems like a lot of things in the update are nerfing Bounty Hunting which sucks a lot :/

Fines can be paid off, bounties can't. If you don't pay off the fine within 7 days it expires and becomes a bounty.

After 7 days the bounty (be it a bounty from committing a crime or one from not paying a fine) expires and becomes a dormant bounty that is added to the rebuy cost of the ship if you need to re-spawn in the system where the bounty was issued.

There was a long thread a while back on the main forum (that I can't find now), the idea is to stop people just hanging around in one system killing a bunch of players and then just paying off their bounties.

Bounties are going to suck but it will be harder to get a bounty in the first place. Friendly fire rules have been relaxed as well as other changes. I'd take a stab at explaining it but honestly I'm still unsure how the rules will pan out yet. That said, I do bounty hunting almost exclusively in game and I don't really see what you're classifying as a "nerf". Can you elaborate some?''

EDIT: Adding this so I'm not making multiple posts in a row... is beta access something anyone can get into or is this something only certain individuals have, such as kickstarter backers or something? I'd be willing to test in beta for their as well as my own benefit :twisted:

I'm excited to see how this will pan out and hope everything "works as intended". Seeing as I also bounty hunt quite often.

The 10% loss to selling modules might stink a little bit... but if Bulletin Board mission rewards are also scaling with rank, then it may become easier to recoup losses without having to saddle up and go hunt/trade for an hour.

It would be nice to actually receive decent remuneration for picking up station missions/grinding naval rep.

Yes, just got in and had this issue - non-responsive mouse. As Zedar says, the fix is to enable the Hardware Cursor under Graphics options.

Well took me an hour just to move from one station to another.......Keep getting drop outs.....

Finally got to a high tec and got a Diamondback.....A rated it and took a kill mission in another system....Done that and thought I'd hang around a bit more......Now dropped out and can't get back in......Mouse also not working...I'll try what was suggested
