As Xebeth said, you can enter a station name in the galaxy map's search field and it will find the system. No need to jot it down.

Yeah, I know, but I need to know the system name in the first place in order to type it in when I'm actually in the game tomorrow . At least "LHS 3005" was a bit easier to remember than this one, so I didn't need to note it down .

So sad, I kind of just wish they hit the vulture with the nerfed bat now (actually I'd prefer they leave it, but that won't happen), so I could see if it's still worth saving for. My luck, I'll finally have enough saved up for the ship and upgrades and right when I get it they'll nerf it. I can just see the topic announcement now,

Ohh, I always assumed you could only use the Search function for star names...wow, are all the station names really unique, then? I'd've thought, what with there being so many, that there was bount to be some repetition here and there. I suppose some station names are just similar without being exactly the same.

I'm not sure they're unique, but when a search returns several results (like when searching for a partial system name) you can press Return or click the arrow at the right of the search field to cycle across results.

you missed the "remove A6 FSD for Lakon type 9 from Piaget orbital fix"!! Just as I had enough cash to buy it....grrrr

So it turns out that HIP 74290 is about 300 light years (or something) from where I am right now, so I don't think I'm likely to be visiting it any time soon, lol.
