I'm excited for the Debug camera and all those good exploration shots we will get now with our own ships!

Wait and see on that one. I read it as implying the camera will be for ship views only, so maybe some nice shots of our own ships but the views of the planet/star etc we like may still be an issue. I guess we shall just have to wait and see (hopefully see).

Yeah we will have to wait and see because I see this as a debugging camera angle that you can move to an exterior view of the ship (for devs and artists to look for imperfections) and then position the ship in such a way where a good celestial object makes the perfect shot, hope I'm right! :-)

Given its not supposed to be a usable gameplay camera, I would assume it would be of limited range and manoeuvrability, possibly locked to face the ship from wherever it is positioned. And I would guess that your ship would remain vulnerable to attack while you are spending time lining up that perfect shot.

Vanity comes with its own risks :D

EDIT: Confirmed - using the camera leaves you a sitting duck ready to be blasted away by a passing ship. Better be quick taking that selfie!

Can't wait for a way to make screenshots that don't include my cockpit (or my ship at all, for that matter)! But there are other things in there I find exciting: the shortcuts to chat with your target (/T) and to respond to the ship that just talked to you (/R) will be very useful, and I appreciate the reduction in repair costs (I'm flying an Asp, for which the repair costs are notoriously outrageous).

Cool, MB has also confirmed that the "debug" camera should allow you to:
  • get external views of your ship from various angles & distances
  • point the camera away from the ship to effectively get cockpit/HUDless shots
  • use the camera in normal and SC flight (not sure how that's going to really work, as FD are wanting to avoid this being a true gameplay 3rd person view)

Some good stuff here. Will have to see how it works in practice, but looks good so far.

When my comms actually started working, I kept trying to use these out of habit/muscle-memory! LOL. So that actually WORKING when I do it will be nice. haha.
