He had a full life, with many many turns and adventures, Swimming in the Italian Olympic team, construction worker in the Amazonas
(!), lawyer, actor, singer, writer, inventor. He was 86 years old, and appeared in public until recently, always friendly and nice to his fans.
I never met him in person, but I had a friend who lived in Rome just across the street from Bud for a while. He told me he was always polite and happy to meet fans, and did not refuse to shake hands and talk a little, although most of the time he was chatting to them from his apartment window (An Italian thing apparently
) Bud Spencer, you were part of my growing up and even if I didn't know until today that this was actually your life's motto, you taught me to not take life too seriously: Futtetenne, roughly translated to "shit happens" (though "Ah, fuck it!" gets the tone a little better
