Browser Problem

I use Firefox.

As long as I've been using tabbed browsers, they've always open to the right, whether I open them or if they pop up (for example, when browsing tumblr). However, the last few days these pop up tabs have been opening to the left (usually some scam).

Any idea WTF is going on and how to stop it?

Sounds like your browser has been hijacked somehow.....

I use these two programs.....Not sure if they will work...But you never know....

Yeah, scans don't reveal any problems. I should clarify that most pop up tabs still open on the right - just a rare one opens on the left, and it's usually a scam. I just think this is something that's allowed in html, or newly allowed, and these scammers just figured it out. I usually close unwanted tabs instantly, but when the open on the left I don't notice them, thinking they must be something I already had opened. Then all of the sudden the speakers blast "IMPORTANT SECURITY MESSAGE - MICROSOFT ... blah blah blah .... CALL TO UNLOCK YOUR COMPUTER ...". I just close them w/o any problem. I guess this happens about once a day. Assholes.

Actually, I just remembered that I work with two website developers (different company - same office). I'll ask them about this tomorrow.
