Maybe old enough to have played the original game, so that would be about 45-50 and up?

What is this 'up' thing?

You went outside as a an 8 year old kid and your mom shouts "stay near the house" and she meant "don't go further than two miles".

And now you constantly read stories like this.

I'd like to take just about all social workers and flush them down the toilet. And as for a neighbor who would report someone over something like this, they need to be charged with a crime. :x

I'm not yet 50, but it's not far over the horizon, either.

I still listen to Tull. A lot.

I almost certainly NOT too old to rock and roll.

Being 50 I qualify as an older pilot.

I dont listen to Tull though. Growing up in the 70's in our house we were introduced Led Zep, Bowie, Queen and Bob Marley.

We had 4 rules 1.Stay near the house 2. Dont get into any trouble 3. Dont talk to strangers. 4. Be home for your dinner

Living in central London with buses every two minutes. We hardly ever stayed near the house, often getting into trouble by bunking the buses to places you had no idea were. Then asking a stranger "'excuse me Mrs how do i get back to ...."
Finally, and which was by far the worse thing to do coming home LATE for your dinner.

LZ, check. Bowie, check. Queen, check. Marley, check.

Add in some Rush and some Yes, as well as a few other more pop-oriented acts and we're sorted.

I lived in a more suburban (US) area, but we had essentially the same thing. "Dinner is at 5:30. Be home by then." We had bicycles instead of buses, but still got pretty far (and only occasionally got lost).

Now I have kids. My oldest is at university, but with the other two it still feels like we'll be arrested if we don't know where they are at all times.

The "Classic" rock station I sometimes listen to just changed to "Oldies", but they're still playing the same songs!

Well, if that doesn't make me an older pilot, I don't know what does.
