Re: Engineers General Advice

Thanks for the feedback guys, helps me understand what's happening a lot better. Assuming "G" means the level you took it to (out of 5) pargyrak? I wasn't sure whether the upgrades would be available to all ships or only the one you're in, seems to be the later. Might upgrade the Conda ful...

Re: Engineers General Advice

So just tried on my first upgrade and not sure what this means: http://i.imgur.com/rD0KEoq.png Do i get all the effect under "Primary"effects PLUS all the effects under "Secondary"? I am confused because Integrity is listed on the left (under Primary) and right (under Secondary) ...

Engineers General Advice

I have just purchased Horizons and am about to start visiting Engineers for upgrades etc. I was wondering whether my fellow CMDRs would have any advice for a newbie Engineer seeker - things to consider etc. I am currently at Elvira Martuuk's base thinking about FTL drive and (maybe) shields. Is this...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

EDIT - so it's pointless buying more than one buggy? Does this mean it's also pointless have a bay that holds more than one (for now)?? Depends how far you are going and how careful you want to be. Personally if I go exploring (by which I mean I probably wouldn't see a station for the next 10 000++...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

Here are a couple tips for the SRV: If you find yourself kind of out-of-control, use your parking brake. It generally glues you to the ground, even if you are tumbling down a hill. If you over boosted and see you are going to have a hard landing, try to land, just slightly, on your front tires. If ...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

No. You still end up in ship but you can just swoop back down to planet and redeploy without having to replace the buggy. Driving is still finicky and often you will spin out (well I do) for what feels like no real reason. Given a bit of practice you can often keep speeds of 35-40 on fairly even te...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

Thx TorTorden - that gave me quite a laugh (and made me feel better!) :D I was wondering about those very points you raise though so thank you for clearing that up. Got me to thinkin...I have a bay with two buggy's, shouldn't it just put me in the second one if the first's integrity gets reduced to ...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

Thanks Roger Wilco Jr - good advice. Still playing around with it now. Which leads me to my next issue...when in the air and I use the joystick to roll, I seem to be out of control (i.e. it's like i have drive assist off but i don't - i just keep spinning). Anyway, can I reduce the sensitivity of th...

Re: HOTAS set up & SRV

OK, quick test done and....oh yeah, wow! So very cool. Makes a huge difference having the throttle set properly (I don't i feel like an ass at all lol!) Here's a nice holiday snap of my 'ventures. :D http://i.imgur.com/WdK7tKV.png Thanks guys, you're always a great help. I appreciate the advice as u...
