My home base is actually in Sol, and I do a lot of bounty hunting in YZ Ceti. Pretty nice Haz-Res rings there.

I think you'll probably want to do as JL said and look into the Asp Explorer until you've stockpiled a few more credits, after which a Python is a multi-role ship that can take you very, very far (and is still probably my favorite ship to fly.) But that's kinda the order of multi-role ships, methink...

I wasn't able to scan the logs on the generation ship that I saw over the weekend, either. Not sure what the trick is. I was able to scan two of the three I visited just fine, but for whatever reason the Odysseus wasn't working... that and it appeared to be slowly falling toward the moon's surface ...
