Thanks guys. I'm in 17 DRAC in a weaponless and weak shielded Hauler (best option for a cheap throwaway ship for quick long distance travel), so hadn't taken those promotion missions and instead hiked all the way back to normal fed space, but now I know they should be OK to take.

Only problem I had was the rank missions which were all get some stolen stuff from an unoccupied area of space that refused to spawn any USS or ships or anything, so I buggered off to a more populated area for my rank-up mission. Same here. It's Weak Signal Sources you want for these missions, BTW....

You're doing just fine. I think that commander was... well I'll be kind and say he was exaggerating. In a really good run in a high-res before horizons you could do 2mil in an hour, but post-horizons with the shield nerf, the SCB nerfs and the AI tweaks making it much more likely to get ganged up on...

i have the corsair K70, but I went for the MX Brown, because using voice comms with someone using MX Reds is really really annoying. The textured WASD keys is really useful when using a VR headset.

OK, #1 and #2 have been fixed it seems, the mission text is now correct and you now also get credit for Federation bounties.
