Re: What are you doing (ingame) now?

I spent the past couple of days using that new Vulture to do assassination missions and have a couple of bounties put on my head in systems which I thought were Anarchy. The galmap is procedurally generated from a seed value. Systems can and have flipped since launch, and their actual status is ret...

Re: What are you doing (ingame) now?

I got back from a long exploration trip just in time for the Cemiess CG last week. I used all the money from that to buy myself a pretty new Vulture. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g20/Kelly-Hrdina/Elite/Screenshot_0120.png I spent the past couple of days using that new Vulture to do assassinatio...

Re: AFK CMDR Bunnyfett

Why has Hutton Orbital been in the news so much lately? Another Community goal? Yes, The Hutton Mug . If I had flow the 45 minutes or so to reach the outpost after a jump (just to sell scrap at a loss), and had to wait because someone parked on the pad then went out to the movies, I'd be a little u...

Same here!

I rushed back on Monday night because I didn't think the CG would still be active by the time I got home from work on Tuesday. Good thing I did because when I checked in the morning it was already over.

Re: Good space Science fiction books?

Yes as I understand it the film came together as a collaboration with SJK and the film came before the book. However it is an easy read as ACC style of writing is one of my favourites. Like Asimov, he just has a knack of having a nice easy style. I especially loved his RAMA books too. Agreed, I am ...

Re: AFKers on outpost - CMDR Ekkie

I'd always assumed that the hangars were multiple storage bays beneath the landing platform. Working a bit like the elevators on an aircraft carrier. If they don't work that way (and it appears they don't) then it's all just a bit pointless as well has being time wasting when docking and un-docking...

Re: Good space Science fiction books?

Has anyone read the Lost Fleet series ?? Yeah, I liked that series. The last I read, I think, was when they visited Sol and got into some trouble. I think there's been 1 or maybe 2 since then that I need to catch up with. ***edit*** Just checked and I had finished the original series. It was the se...

Re: Good space Science fiction books?

i also enjoyed 'The Mote In God's Eye' by Niven/Pournelle, but it is more about an alien encounter than space per se Yep Good Read. Yes, this is a really good book. The second (The Gripping Hand) is not bad, but the first is superior. I also echo the recommendations for Clarke's Rama series, as wel...
